I love anime and have had difficulty finding unique, comfortable clothes with varieties? that is until AnimeApe. I absolutely LOVE them! I recently made a purchase on Anime Ape for their Chip n' Dale Button-Up Hawaiian Shirt and boy, was I disappointed in the sizing! While the quality of the shirt seems okay, with sturdy enough material and stitching visible on the outside, the size is way off. I read some reviews before making the purchase and many mentioned that the shirts tend to run large. However, this was definitely not the case for me! I usually wear a 3X or 4X and ordered a 4X size, but it fits like a very small 3X.

To make matters worse, I'm unable to leave a review on their website. I can only assume that the reviews are fake since I've seen nothing but positive comments before making my purchase. And while I would've loved to return the shirt to get a bigger size, it's now impossible since the shirt was already washed and removed from the original packaging.

They never update the shipping and tracking information, which is very important to customers who want to know where their package is. I tried contacting the shipping service with the tracking number they provided, but the item was never sent and not in their system. It seems that the tracking numbers are non-existent. What a rip-off! They keep sending me generic emails with coupons and percentages off my next order, but why would I ever buy from them again if they can't even deliver my original order? This has been the worst customer experience I've ever had with an online vendor. I am currently going to open up a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. I can't even contact the company to file a return since they don't respond to any of my messages. Shame on Anime Ape for ruining our holiday season! Beware of this company, people! I placed an order for a queen size Goku quilt on December 31, 2022 from Anime Ape and received a tracking number on January 5, 2023. I checked the USPS website and saw that my package was awaiting shipment. I received a notification from USPS on January 9 stating that my item would arrive on January 12, 2023. On January 11, I received another notification stating that my package was in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and awaiting delivery. However, my post office was located in New Orleans and upon realizing that the package was marked for delivery to the wrong state, I immediately contacted them.

The post office employee informed me that the package only weighed 8.8 oz and costed $3.99 for first class delivery. Curiously, my name was not even on the package. I emailed Anime Ape with screenshots of their website and the USPS tracking information in order to prove that they provided me with the wrong tracking number, but have yet to hear back from them regarding the error. My order status on their website appears as complete, which I find doubtful.

Their website declares that they were founded by twenty-something year old geeks who have just lost their virginity, which I find questionable. However, the Better Business Bureau's complaints indicate that they are a family company. There are also discrepancies between their Florida and Wyoming addresses and phone numbers listed on the BBB website and on their own website. I attempted to contact their Wyoming number, which is ***273, but only heard an automated message inquiring whether they screwed up my order before being directed to their email address.

I discovered that their Florida address was actually a UPS store, while their listed Wyoming address was registered under Laurezone LLC. I found another Wyoming phone number on another website, but did not call it as it could have been the same. I filed a complaint with the BBB and informed Anime Ape via email that they should be investigated by the FBI, as I find their operations to be dubious.

At this point, I have already lost $62.30 from my purchase (even with their 20% discount) and it remains to be seen whether my issue will be rectified. I advise others to avoid this site and to research companies before making purchases in the future.
