Synchrony Bank theft by deception, breach of contract, need a lawyer for a class action lawsuit

i have 6 synchrony credit cards each with payment security. over the years any claim to activate benefits is easy, after that its a nightmare. under 3.1 of their contract, they are supposed to cover or credit you, your monthly payments. they do not reimburse you or credit you. Then if no additional purchases since benefit activation date, they are supposed to completely pay the balance owed on each account up to $10,000. When making your own monthly minimum payments the final pay out doesnt cover your whole debt. this is theft by deception and beach of contract. I have proof over the years synchrony does this repeatedly. if they are stealing and doing a breach of contract with me several times over the years, everyone who does business with these deceitful scammers is getting tricked and stolen from as well. if those 9/10 of a penny adds to millions and billions for gas imagine how much money they are stealing from all customers! please any lawyers contact me at [protected]@gmail.com or fax me at [protected]. any information I would like in writing.

Synchrony Bank Paypal partner to pay taxes

In April 2023 I was heavily solicited to pay my taxes via PayPal. I was recently laid off so I followed the solicitation to distribute my $1600+ tax payment over 6 months interest free. For this benefit there was a charge of $30.62 applied. As you can see from the screen shot attached, in the email solicitation it reflects an available credit balance of $5,400.

Following my acceptance of their offer, I was notified that they would NOT be paying my taxes. When I called to inquire why they said it was because my credit limit was only $1,500. I was told I had to apply for an increase despite the fact that I was solicited with a $5,400 line of credit. I said fine – do it. And I was declined on the spot. I had to wait three days to get my declination letter and the decline reason was inactivity of my account ( I no longer have this as I thought this was settled in July – If I need it then I am sure I can spend MORE time getting a copy since it is on my credit now.)

I called back to have the fee reversed given that they were not going to honor the originally solicited offer, and was told I had to take that up with the US government. I followed up until I found a representative who agreed that it did not make sense and they took it to someone with a high enough authority to approve writing off $30.62. This was in July 2023. In an attached screen shot can see that in July the charges were reversed. I no longer have full access to get to details online since I closed my Synchrony credit account. But ALL charges are relating to the initial erroneous charge to the US Government for using PayPal to pay my taxes – which NEVER occurred. Then the $30.62 was added back in September – why? – I have no idea.

When I have tried to resolve with Synchrony via phone I cannot be connected to anyone beyond a frontline supervisor, often not even that. The standard response is that I take this up with the US Government. Only ONCE – in July did the representative actually try to solve a customer issue.

I have tried to appeal to PayPal since it is their partnership with Synchrony that enticed me to even consider the heavily marketed financing of a tax payment. PayPal, while very supportive of the fact that my request is reasonable, ultimately only sends me back to Synchrony. From the attached screen shot, you can see that when I try to use the method that PayPal provides for me to chat with a live agent at Synchrony, however, I am pushed back into the PayPal system. It is a furious loop of inadequate resolution with no method of escalation.

On Friday November 10, I spoke to "Sherwin" at Synchrony Bank. Unfortunately in the time that it took me to reconstruct all of this insanity, I was then late for an appointment. I quickly and directly shared the story with Sherwin, advised I didn’t have time to wait to be put on hold and stated that I expected a refund or I would report this incident. To date, I have not had any refund or even a call to reach out to learn more. I have spent too much time on an erroneous $30 fee. But I am not willing to have my credit impacted. When I look at Synchrony on your site they have a horrendous customer experience. I hope this will provide some recourse to what appears to be a very simply write off of a fee incurred due to poor follow through on marketing by a PayPal and Synchrony partnership to finance tax payments.

Claimed loss: $4,030.62 (includes time compensation estimated at 40 hours)

Desired outcome: Refund $30.62 charge, Rebate all fees associated to the $30.62. Apology letter confirming no credit rating impact. Compensation for time.

Synchrony Bank Mohawk and care credit cards

I purchased new flooring and was approved for a Mohawk credit card. At the time of purchase I was unaware of any promotions. I called Mohawk customer service on 5/11/23 and spoke with Jonathan, who told me the promo had ended and $1900.00 interest was charged to my account. The same thing happened on my Care Credit account. I was unaware of any promotions at the time of purchase. I asked to speak a supervisor to dispute the charges and the phone call was disconnected. I called back and the female representative placed me on hold for several minutes and the call disconnected. I wrote a letter in regards to this issue some time in June 2023. I never received a response. I continued to pay both accounts. I have 4 active accounts with Synchrony Bank, which are all paid on time. I called again on 11/9/23 and spoke with Jade. She states a letter was sent to me but she could not verify my address of where the letter went to and the Mohawk account has been closed. I again asked for a Supervisor and was disconnected. My next option is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau or take legal actions. Please reply as this is an urgent matter.

Desired outcome: I would the company to take the interest charges off my Mphawk account and my Care Credit account with written confirmation once the transaction has been completed.

Synchrony Bank Billing dispute

Several months ago, I wrote to draw attention to a billing dispute. I'm unable to use a phone. In short, I'm still being billed -- with penalties added -- for something that I returned within a day or two to Amazon after receiving it and finding out it was defective merchandise. I was eventually sent an email stating that Synchrony was investigating it, but haven't heard back from them even though it's past the allotted 60 days it's supposed to have taken for the investigation.

Claimed loss: Whatever I'm currently still being billed for, plus my credit rating (which has plummeted because of this issue).

Desired outcome: I want the records straightened out and amended to show I owe Synchrony nothing, and I want my old credit rating restored.

Synchrony Bank Walgreens Credit Card - Closed in Sep 2023 without warning

You closed my account for inactivity without any warning at all.

Is this legal? Yes it is legal but it is totally unethical and totally reprehensible. Ultimately your business will be punished as your reputation (already questionable) continues to deteriorate.

My situation is unique. I never wanted credit card from Synchrony in the first place. Do to a major screw up by a 16-year old clerk at Walgreens I reluctantly ended up with a Walgreens card issued by Synchrony bank. The manager worked feverishly to try to cancel my unwanted card, but to no avail.

What's gong on now? Synchrony canceled my card for inactivity, again with no warning, and my credit score which was 835 went to 798 - a drop of a whopping 37 points based on a company I despise, Synchrony, and the fact they closed the account without warning.

I'm going to do everything I can to put out a negative word on social media, but at this point it's all I can control.

Claimed loss: Credit hit for 37 points!!

Desired outcome: Tell Synchrony what they are doing is wrong. With proper warning, I would have utilized the card. What they did is totally unethical, but not illegal. In the end, unethical incidents will kill there business!

I am an elderly single woman. I had 3 credit cards with Synchrony as the bank behind them. Care Credit so I could take my elderly dog and 2 cats to the vet. I had a Credit Card from a local auto repair shop to help if my 2007 Nissan Versa broke down. Both cards were only used once and fully paid off with no missed payments. I was not contacted in advance...

Synchrony Bank Billing on a Closed account

We are still recieving a bill after being told that we have a zero balance. There was a credit of $66.86 and was sent a check # [protected] for the same. Told that now we own nothing and we close our account with Sam's

September - October Period.

We then recive a bill for $$67.43 a couple weeks later. After some discussion they said I goy paid twice. Even the Amounts are different.

They claim that some error was made. Marilyn Bieber Account ending in 7001

Synchrony Bank Lowes credit card closed?

Hello,

To who it may concern,

My loowes credit card was closed and I work at Lowes. Why? My payments were ALWAYS ON TIME. I have NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT EVER. You even raised my amount to 3,000 so I must of been doing something right. Everyone on here we should do class action law suit against them for tarnishing our credit. I will never again buy anything at Lowes and I work there

Synchrony Bank Lowe's Credit Card

I received a letter in the mail notifying me that account had been closed due to high risk of failure to pay. I was 4 days late one time ever and they just closed my account. I was told that they ran some sort of check that determine this. I do not care that I don't have a Lowe's card, my concern is my credit that I work hard for. First, not understanding what they ran again, was this my credit? second, I have never heard of a credit card company closing an account for being 4 days late with zero balance.

Desired outcome: I want them to make corrections to my credit report for running my credit again without my permission and to change that I am a high risk.

I know they did the same thing to me and I was NEVER LATE ONCE. I always paid it before the 1st of the month or a week ahead of time which it was due on the 4th of each month. Wow a class action lawsuit?

Don't use Synchrony Bank for anything. They engage in deceptive business practices. They are untrustworthy, no ethics, no scruples, etc. etc. Also be very suspicious of any entity offering a Synchrony credit card to you. Synchrony Bank Credit card accounts

Synchrony Bank recently closed 3 of my accounts with them and this decision was completely unwarranted. I had two Guitar Center cards and one Levin Furniture card. I found out about this through a push notification with Credit Karma.

I am more so concerned about the Levin account. I called into customer service and the first representative I spoke with was extremely rude. He told me a letter was sent to me and he read the text of that letter. He eventually hung up on me. The reasons for my closure is completely bogus. I understand I agreed to their terms and conditions upon opening the account, but that doesn't mean I can't dispute their decision. I called back in and spoke with a friendly rep who transferred me to a supervisor. The supervisor told me it is impossible to reinstate my account, although reading some of the other complaints on BBB it seems they did reinstate other accounts for people. She gave me the corporate address to which I mailed a letter. I also filed a

complaint through the chat system on their website. They sent me an email a few days letter with another letter that basically said the same thing as the first one. It was a do not reply email address so I couldn't send a response back.

I have made every single payment on time for all 3 accounts that were closed, I had these accounts for years! It's no wonder why these guys have a 1.9 BBB rating. Closing your customers' accounts for bogus reasons is terrible customer service. I will consider my complaint resolved when all 3 of

my closed accounts are re-opened. Until then, I will continue mailing letters and filing complaints with customer service.

Desired outcome: Would like my closed accounts to be reinstated

Synchrony Bank Credit card

This is the WORST bank to deal with in regard to their credit card.

The day after we opened it we had fraud on the account, and I had to call them.

I had to escalate the issue 4 times to get a manager and get it resolved.

The week after we used the card and had to go thru several calls to validate the CVC code.

NOW, they froze the account yet again for some unknown reason and sent me a link to take a face video and pictures of my state issued ID card. Their software is obviously flawed because the videos I took were clear and clean however it wouldn't recognize them, and I received a message stating that I would be receiving a letter in 7-10 days. I called and spoke with a manager named Lynn who was no help at all, and I told her to close my account because their customer service absolutely sucks, and I am not going thru this every week just to use their card. It's not worth the trouble at all. If you are thinking about opening a credit card account, I would advise you to think again.

Desired outcome: I would like to speak with the CEO and CFO. I will also be filing a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

Synchrony Bank Rooms to go credit card

I am a current account holder with rooms to go… My initial credit limit was $1000. Then suddenly without warning without ever even charging anything on the account and all my other accounts, being in good standing, i was notified that my limit was lowered to 250 so I decided to do a credit prequalification to see what would happen and I was prequalified for $4000. Synchrony rooms to go whoever does the underwriting needs to revamp. Also, I was prequalified for an Ashley home store credit card for $1000 after my rooms to go credit limit had been lowered. The underwriting needs to be addressed for rooms to go.

Desired outcome: My credit limit to be raised to the 4000 that I pre-qualified for as I have several synchrony bank credit cards, and my credit history with synchrony is outstanding

Synchrony Bank Care credit account closed with no warning.....lied on credit report

Got care credit for the vet. Established the account, and made the payments. Got the bill down by around 200, then suddenly i cant access the account online.

Called customer service ' oh the account was closed'. Mind you I had been paying on that account as of sep 22 - april 23. I never got a bill, just knew when the bill was due and paid online. Never received any notification(still nothing to this day), however on my credit report it says 'closed for non payment.

On the site, they are still treating it as an active account, with late fees, and card fees, interest etc - despite the account being closed. That does not sound like a closed account. Letters are being sent clearly after the due date - letters travel faster than anything. Will continue to contest it.

Desired outcome: Completely close the account. That means no more late fees and card and interest on the site while falsifying information on my credit report ( saying its closed. All those late fees need to be removed.

Synchrony Bank Credit Limit

I applied for an account today, requesting a high limit. My credit score is >800 and I have a very high income. I was offered a much smaller credit limit. As I have worked in the Finance industry for many years, I am well aware that I could have received a higher limit.

I spoke to 3 people at Synchronicity Bank who kept on transferring me until I was transferred back to a person I already spoke with. The customer service is very poor. I read that they can have the effect of lowering your credit score - this is why I am not cancelling the card immediately as I am concerned about the repercussions. If you can, I suggest you find an alternative to this bank!

Desired outcome: A Higher credit limit.

Synchrony Bank Care credit synchrony bank

Account ending #2534 was moved from fraud to collections to the recovery department. Agent in Recovery department took my personal checking account information to apply payments to this account for every Friday. According to the recovery department no payments have been applied and he does not see payment arrangement but my personal checking account is reflecting payments taken ($50) every Friday from my bank account to Synchrony Bank. There have been hundreds of dollars taken and no one can tell me where payments are been applied to or where the money is. I have been hung up and told they don't know what to tell me. I need some answers asap.

Synchrony Bank ChevronTexaco Credit card

I have had a ChevronTexaco credit card for many years. My husband and i use it for business travel. We had to go into debt relief with some of our other credit cards and we left the Chevron card out of it because we still need to use it. We have never been late or missed a payment. My credit score decreased temporarily while this debt consolidation is going on but will recover. I went into the Chevron site to INCREASE the Autopay so that we could get this card paid off faster only to see that they cancelled our card without our knowledge. They said that they sent an email but i never received one and even their staff could not find one that was supposedly sent! We have never had a late payment with this card and they CANCEL it! What sense does that make? They do not care about loyal customers or what might be going on in other aspects of their lives.

Synchrony Bank Loan denial misinformation

On September 20, 2023, Customs NW Remodeling sent me a link for Synchrony Bank to apply for a loan. The loan in my husband's name was denied due to the applicant being DECEASED. The denial email was received on September 25, 2023. My husband is NOT dead. My concern is that having this "out there" may cause us problems in the future. I contacted our bank, Custom NW Remodeling, our credit report, Social Security and all three Credit Bureaus.

All of them had my husband as ALIVE with good credit. It is not the denial of the loan but the reason for the denial as DECEASED that is troubling. I then tried calling Synchrony several times talking to reps from all over the world, many of whom were hard to understand and the all the calls were disconnected by them.

I used several recommended numbers and finally talked to someone in Ohio who said the Credit Bureau denied the credit. That is FALSE.

When I said this, I was transferred to someone else and after several minutes the call was disconnected again by Synchrony Bank.

If they don't want to okay the loan, fine; just tell us why the credit was denied. Don't lie about it by saying the applicant is DEAD and blame someone else for listing that reason.

The DECEASED label may cause us trouble in the future and I need to know WHO determined my husband was DEAD. This is NOT acceptable business practice AND DEFINITELY THE BANK'S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WHAT'S DEAD. Listing someone as dead may ruin an individual's financial/insurance/health future to care for self.

THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED QUICKLY AND SYNCHRONY BANK NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MISINFORMATION and remove it from the data base.

Desired outcome: Having my husband listed as DECEASED needs to be corrected and deleted from our background check. Synchrony Bank needs to prove to us that this action has been completed.

Synchrony Bank Fraud charges

I have called and written numerous times. You continue to bill me for charges I have told you are fraudulent. I have received no information on any investigation into the matter.

You are in violation of your own zero fraud liability policy and The Fair Credit Reporting Act. Accordingly, I am now preparing a civil lawsuit, which will include a claim for punitive damages. You aren't even registered with the Secretary of State's Office in Colorado, and you do not have a certificate of good standing. You are doing business in Colorado illegally. I'm a retired attorney and I believe the judge will agree with me that your behavior is predatory and illegal. I look forward to collecting my award for punitive damages.

Synchrony Bank I am writing to question the closing of 5 of my credit accounts , all payments were made on time.

All payments were made on time, You sent me letters stating Un honorable intentions? Which there was not !

I think I know what happened I made payments to these accounts using checks from a HELOC from Citizens Bank in August 2023, checks were accepted and then reversed. I tried re-submitting on line, they were accepted and then reversed again.

In the end I had to write myself a check to pay the accounts listed, I think someone on your end could have called me and all of this could have been avoided?

Keep in mind I was in communication with each customer service rep, which is no easy task!

I`m concerned this will be a bad effect on my credit score if you make negative report?
