Super Duper Publications Food/Mandatory Tips

I just visited it for the first time yesterday. While I found the establishment clean, overall it is my opinion that the food is average.

Specifically, the hamburger was good but (there was too much bread to actually taste the meat), but the pickles were bitter (to the extent that someone asked me if I was O.K. as I chocked on it), the ice cream substandard (ice CREAM, even when dipped in chocolate, doesn't melt that fast -- it's not ice cream but ice milk), and the chocolate dip so waxy that I ended up peeling it off of the (rapidly melting) cone.

The ambience was nice. The spot clean but the prices?

Nowhere near worth it...

On top of all of that I checked my receipts today (had given my card to a friend) to discover that that had the AUDACITY to give themselves a tip! Tips (despite what anyone says) are NOT compulsory! Tips on ice milk cones? They are simply am insult!

So, first and last time experience.

I'm glad I went (for the sake of a friend) but it was not money well spent.

Super Duper Publications A Super Duper bad place to work

This place super duper blows. You have to wear gay uniforms even though their is hardly any interaction with the public. The maintenance people get paid more to cut the grass than the csrs who actually deal with the customers. Every one has to put on a fake smile and keep a low profile. You need prozac and xanax most days to keep from slitting your wrists off hours. The trainor puts more effort into getting the owners dogs groomed, getting flowers for the front desk, and baby sitting than actually training. As far as interacting with the owner, you have a better chance catching him outside his office at the local strip club than at the castle of horrors. Last but not least, the decor of this place is disgusting. It looks like someone threw up all over the walls and floor. If you think money is spent wisely here, then check out the bath rooms. I've never seen such bad taste and junk in my life. I could go on and on and on but I think you get my drift.

Super Duper Publications Bad Management

This company is the epitome of a wolf in sheep's clothing. They hide behind a facade of a good christian based family run business oozing with southern charm, when in reality it is actually hell. They have created a "castle" in which to enslave the serfs of their command. It is a typical "too good to be true" work atmosphere. They make sure that appearances to the outside world are idyllic; pretty building, recognizable uniforms; planted PR. In actuality, there is vodka in every freezer and drinking on company time. Spousal fighting by the owners (on-site Pres. and VP). The uniforms are more like prison uniforms in that they are not a necessity for all department to insure job performance, in fact they are a "classism" meant to make employees feel less than professional. Phone are not allowed at all desks (due to suspicion and mistrust). Communication between employees is almost impossible without phone use, as you spend most of your time tracking people down (if you are even privy to who the key players on project are). People are hired for particular positions and promised profit sharing and salaries; and then never given any responsibility to what they were hired for, as well as never seeing any profit sharing and having pay cuts in way of forced mandatory vacations (even as a salaried employee), or threat of job elimination unless accepting a pay cut. Employees are harassed for speaking up, questioning procedures, commenting on processes or making suggestions for saving money/time on projects. They instill an atmosphere of backstabbing and mistrust through intimidation and track record of a revolving door of employees let go for no reason other than they felt threatened or were retaliating for their own personal mood swings and needed to take it out on someone. Those who have left have been and expressed their opinions of the work environment are threatened with possible legal action for doing so. As for a company, they tout an All American personality, while all products are made in China. They hide behind the well fabricated facade of making a product for developmentally challenged children, when in reality they are a greedy bad business, exploiting their employees and customers to further their pocketbooks, real estate ventures and lifestyle. These people play with their employees lives on a daily basis, fully aware that they are inflicting terror, hardship and undue stress. From sexual harassment to forced overtime without pay (sometimes requiring a 7 day work week, allowed to leave when management tell you it is okay...as late as midnight, and expected back the following morning on time) and no comp time allowed. This is a company I would not recommend and in fact would warn people to avoid at any cost.

I ordered a massager thru them, via Pinterest. It was only after the order was completed that they mention to you about a month for arrival of product, but first they will e-mail you when they are ready, due to heavy volume!
Yep, super supers kindly lives up to their name.
I have contacted them multiple times and requested cancellation and do not charge my credit card.
Might as well whistle in the wind.
I will never ever do "business" with this shady group of liars.

I, too, worked for an employer who treated their employees very similar to what was described by the OP, so I can relate. I applied for a job at Super Duper a year or so ago and did not even get an interview. I was contemplating applying again as they have the same position open right now, but I see that there are even more complaints than before. I almost feel like I have PTSD from my last employer...I don't think I want to get into the same situation all over again. I also think it's a shame because the building does look spectacular and I have all they skills they are looking for and think I could contribute to their success. It does speak volumes when the same position keeps coming up about every month...what is also a shame is that immediately the employee gets blamed for the problems, as though there aren't EVER any bad employers out there, only bad employees.

It is interesting to read these comments because I applied for a job there a while back. In fact, I see on their site they are hiring for the same job again. So it would not surprise me if the complaints were true.

Sounds like it is a good thing I didn't get the job.

And by the way, I left a job a year ago because management did most of the same kinds of shenanigans you are describing.

I worked there and yes was fired after 2 years of dedication to these crazy people. The people who remain, only remain because they are over paid to take crap off the owners. Everyone who works there even today knows that everything is all about show. The people who left or were fired are lucky they moved on to real jobs with real bosses. Super Duper could absolutely be a great work place. The building is spectacular. The only way this will ever be a great place to work is for the owners to go home and stay there.
I never was harassed or warned of anything. I was simply lied to and let go. Good luck to those who remain working for SD. Congrats to the folks who are gone and learned the truth behind the doors of the castle.

Lol your obviously a employee who got fired for whjo knows what I've worked there roughly 6yrs now. Other then those employee's who cuase or start needless drama, most remian for years the current employess have been there as long or longer then I. You're statement that they make you work over-time with no pay is also false you get time-and-half for anything over forty hrs for hourly, also we have not had any overtime in well over a year now. the owners are no more greedy then any other bussiness owners, furthermore they allow thier employess to get away with awhole lot more then any other bussiness would as well. No one that ive spoken to or seen has ever heard of someone being forced to take let alone being given a pay cut, true they dont pay nor give raises like most companies do but then again you dont haveta stay if you dont want to either. The last time there was a lat night it ended at 6pm and that was in 2008 during ASHA the largest show they goto. Here lately, for last year and a half, employess in warehouse have been being allowed to go home as early as 9 am if the orders were slow enough. I qoute "It is a typical too good to be true work atmosphere" whats too good to be true the fact they allow you to listen to your own personal radio or MP3 player at work, the one hour lunch breaks, or the extended lunch room along with recreational room with multiple massage chairs and 3 professional pool tables that you get to use on your break. You get to work at your own pace for the most part, and the few times in last several years you've been asked to go faster is completely rational. There are many things wrong with this company in which you've stated not one of them.

But all this doesnt really matter in the end you've shown yourself to be a ex-employee who if I dont miss the mark, is most likely the one who used to dilibertaly condesend people then try to say she/he was a christaian and forgave them for being mad at you. You got fired cuase you cuased too many drama issues needlessly by pouting or sticking your nose into people lives and trying to preach to them on how they should live, and yet you yourself have shown many times over that your a bigot you say one thing and do another. Stop trashing this company becuase you got fired over your own doings. in any other company world wide you'ld been fired long ago.

In the end one thing remains religion sports and politics should never be talked or discuss in a work enviroment unless you're prepaired to have your views challendged by another with different views on the subject. If you are the type of person who feels like they need to shout the preferable sins of other at the top of your lungs while trying to cover up your own then you should stay at home and dont bother to look for work. If you ask someone about there personal life and dont like the answer then perhaps you've should have never asked in first place. too many people goto work looking to make life long friends out of everyone, its a job you go to work not to be friends with everyone most of these poeple you will never go out with after work for anything more then work related things. No one is harrassed or sexually harrassed. Just like any real job if this happens you've the right to report it to Human resources and have it taken care of, and just like in other real job they will investigate and make sure your version of what happened is correct before they take action. I've found many a forum where exemployess bash this company becuase they pushed the preferable envelope beyond the breaking point and got fired. If you'ld like to state true facts dont leave yourself annominous state who you are plainly your already fired why hide, freedom of speech is still a consitutional right.
