I was returning from Cairo Egypt on13.05.2026 - 04:40 Cairo Intl Arpt Terminal 3* Lufthansa Booking code: C3H4NC flight # UA9025 operated by: Lufthansa. I used my telescopic fishing pole to replace my lost cane and caused difficulty with Lufthansa ground crew, after inspection I was required to plastic wrap the pole unfortunately Lufthansa ground crew did not allow me to carry the pole on board, they put it with the rest of my luggage so I was left without a cane. At my arrival to LAX the can did not arrive at the claim station I was informed that will arrive in a different flight the following day. After 48 hours I received my pole from a very pleasant gentleman, unfortunately one section of the pole was missing. I never had a problem with Lufthansa for the last 51 years traveling with star alliance in any country except Cairo Egypt this is the second time. I am trying to protect the good name of Lufthansa witch I have a lot of respect. I hope this Metter will be investigated and resolved.

That’s so disheartening, especially after 51 years of loyalty — I can feel how much you wanted to protect Lufthansa’s reputation. I hope they investigate Cairo ground crew properly; losing part of your mobility aid is inexcusable. You deserve better, and I’m so sorry this happened.
