Flagstar Bank Mortgage payments

There is not a transparent way of escalating concerns about Flagstar practices on the website, and your customer service folks are either not empowered to handle such things or not available to handle such things.

I do not like there has been a change in the way Flagstar accepts it's mortgage payments, and without notification to the customers that such a change was taking place and when. I have been paying my mortgage with Flagstar for over two years and have always had options of submitting my payment through multiple accounts. Now that option is no longer available. I feel with that option taken away is the bank's way to bully customers into paying Flagstar's vendor's $15 convenience fee. Why do customers have to pay a fee for our payments to be accepted/submitted? I am certain you can appreciate customers in this time of crisis do not just arbitrarily have money to hand out just because. Is that how customer service is managed in the mortgage department?

I respectfully request you consider reinstating the previous payment options for customers. Most customers want to pay and pay timely AND without a lot of hassle. Flagstar HAD it right.

Flagstar Bank Escrow check

We recently sold our home with January and closed our escrow account with Flagstar. After many issues, we were finally sent a check. A few weeks ago, we received another check close to $700. We called to see what this 'miscellaneous escrow' check was and they stated it was valid and to go ahead and cash it which we did. Today we received a call stating this check was sent to us in error and we need to pay it back. My husband, being the kind person he is, paid it back even though we have already spent that money and now my family will have to suffer, going without basic necessities for the next couple weeks, because of Flagstar's mistakes. Amid a pandemic, this type of error is unacceptable. We are very distraught with how things have been handled and will not recommend this bank to anyone, in fact, I will go out of my way to make sure they know how awful this company handles 'business errors.' No apology, no remorse, just give me money. I will be pursuing this further in hopes to aid other people fair warning.

Flagstar Bank Closed escrow account

We recently had service through Flagstar Bank as an escrow company. When our home sold, we were to be issued a check from escrow. It has been over 6 weeks, and we have received no check. Throughout these 6 weeks, we have attempted to contact and correct any errors made which has led to confusion and false information. This has been very frustrating and not a very pleasant experience. The agents we have spoken to were abrupt and unapologetic or sympathetic. At the current moment, we would not recommend flagstar as an adequate service.

Flagstar Bank my loans

Agent working from home and had a dog barking in the back ground. When did bank employees start working from home. How do I know I did not talk to a hacker and giving my ss# was a bit unnerving. Last time I called to get my annual interest and they had it right in front of the agent. This time she had to add it up twice. A little bit non professional not talking to an employee at the bank.

Flagstar Bank mortgage

My mortgage loan was transferred to Flagstar, LN#[protected] I initiated an automatic payment to be made each month. In November, I refinanced this loan at Chase Bank, and was directed to cancel the automatic payment, which was completed and confirmed via telephone to Flagstar on 11/20/2019. The mortgage payment was ACH debited anyway, without my permission on 12/1/2019. I have been trying to get my funds back since then. I've called twice, and was told they had no idea when I would receive my funds. I have sent 3 emails and have not received a response back from anyone. The lack of response and responsibility over this is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I do hope you are audited very soon and fined for not doing your due diligence.

On Thursday, 9/19/2019 I was in the Flagstar bank branch listed above. I walked in and stopped to wait for my turn at the glass desktop they have at the entrance. There was a male teller busy with a customer and a female teller at the other end having a conversation with a lady who already had her transaction slip in hand. Both ladies stopped talking...

Flagstar Bank mortgage loss claims

This company is horrible and incompetent at best. I filed a claim in april 2019 with my insurance company which totaled my roof and issued payment in May. Flagstar has lost the first check I mailed to them despite tracking showing it was delivered and who it was signed for by. 3 weeks of daily calls, I'm finally told that they will stop payment on the check. I told the agent they can't stop payment on a check they didn't issue but she insisted that they could (second sign of incompetence). So I call back the next day to be told oh I don't know why you were told that and they other agent didn't follow up with her manager as she had stated. I had to call the adjuster to get a stop payment and a new check issued. 2 weeks later I sent the new check and after an additional 2 weeks, they are saying they don't have it. They claim they have a back lot of checks and that it's taking longer to process but they can not tell me if the check is even in the system. So I'm stuck not knowing where the second check is while risking further damage to MY HOME with a leaky roof and windows.

Flagstar Bank physician mortgage loan bias & discrepancy

Hello! I was searching for a physician loan in Texas that allowed APPs (Advanced Practice Providers) to apply as well. APPs include Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, we are commonly misidentified as mid levels which a term that does that properly identify us in any way. I called and spoke to a pleasant woman, I advised I was a Physician Assistant inquiring about Physician Loan information at Flagstaff. I was advised that Physician Assistants could not apply and if I did, the loan would be denied. I asked if Nurse Practitioners could apply and I was advised they could. I found this is a huge bias and discrimination against Physician Assistants. I'm not sure who and or why this rule is applied at Flagstaff Bank. Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners essential are the same with different education, we both have masters degrees and apply for similar positions. Physician Assistants in particular have a more advanced curriculum usually alongside medical school students and our clinical rotation include surgery and psychiatry. I am writing this complaint in the hope that this policy will change and allow Physician Assistants the same opportunities as our counterparts to apply for Physicians Loans withFlagstaff Bank. There is a huge miseducation and bias regarding this policy and I hope this is looked into and changed ASAP.

Flagstar Bank wells fargo transition

My mother had a trust acccount out of State (Indiana) with Wells Fargo. After the transition to Flagstar occurred, I was told it was a flawless transition "status quo". My mother is in a Nursing Home in Indiana. Today, April 25, The State of IN sends me notification of a $30.49 penalty for my mothers "bounced" quarterly tax payment. I called two different Flagstaff numbers and was told... the deposits are being accepted, you may write WF checks until the end of the year and (get this) the rounting number for EFTs changed on April 1st! The woman told me that "everyone was informed" and that she was sorry but nothing could be done.

Seriously? Who does business like that?

Flagstar Bank wells fargo transition

I've been told my checking/savings is moving to Flagstar Bank on 12/1/18 due to WF selling off branches - in Flagstar's area of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana..only problem. I live in Texas. Account was opened when I lived in California. I have no interest in banking with a bank that tells me my only option for a non-fee ATM is my local Walgreens! So, I called Flagstar to see what can be done to stop this process on my account, since I'll be cancelling it anyway the minute it opens.

Their answer? I need to talk to WF as there is 'nothing' they can do! Umm, , YOU are the ones doing all the work to change m accounts in 2 weeks! I called WF out of s&giggles, and of course, was told there was nothing they could do as Flagstar is doing the transition. If I still lived in Indiana (which the account wasn't opened it), I would close my Flagstar account and go elsewhere just because of the blatant lye I got from their 'service'.. of course, living over 1000 miles from their closest branch now, makes it a much easier decision. I just have to mess with closing/reopening and all that. Thanks for making my day soooo much easier, Flagstar bank!

Flagstar Bank mortgage

I received a letter informing me my account was to be accelerated. The resolution took over two weeks to even speak with a person other than a customer service representative (csr). I had been misinformed repeatedly by multiple csr's. Each csr told me a different and varied interpretation of my situation. I was on the boarder line of being in default with a foreclosure pending. All information related to foreclosure was not discussed or acknowledged, even when asked outright. I feel this "delay tactic" is an attempt on flagstar to steal homes. If you are not diligent and listen carefully, they can and will steal you home. Be careful. Be aware. If you feel this is your situation. Just get a lawyer, right away. Do not wait. Flagstar is attempting to steal from you. I am fortunate, I was raised to be suspect of flim flam and a con when one is present. I paid my default and now am looking to refinance with another company. Get out of flagstar. Join the resistance. Get out. With all sincerity, smarter and faster than flagstar.

Flagstar Bank discrimination in advertising

I was in the branch office in Coldwater, MI yesterday. I live in the state of Michigan. I choose to be a fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. I am very disappointed and disgusted by the bad choice of advertising for the Flagstar Visa card. Having a team logo on your card is nice, but putting down one particular team in your advertising is tacky. This must have been decided in a team room after a 2 martini lunch. I refer to the line on the advertising that states, in BOLD print, "Friends don't let friends bank like a Buckeye". Flagstar boasts customer satisfaction; seems more relevant if you are a Wolverine fan. Flagstar claims it is dedicated to providing the best service; now looks like Michigan fans will be more satisfied. My husband and I have taken great offense, as should all fans of Michigan State, Grand Valley State, Central MI, Western MI, etc. Please know that as soon as I can have my direct deposit redirected I will be closing my accounts and stopping my business at Flagstar Bank.

Flagstar Bank fha loan

Flagstar mortgage is a garbage company. I flip homes in Illinois and have done over 40 in the past few years. My properties always appraise, pass all inspections, etc.. I recently was in the process of selling a property to a buyer who was using Flagstar. On 4 separate occasions, closing were scheduled only to be postponed by Flagstar the day before! I had 4 offers on this property within the first week, all with closing within 30-45 days. I made the huge mistake of going with the buyer using Flagstar. This property still has not closed two months later. I am now putting the property back on the market due to Flagstar's incompetence and starting over. All of my other buyers have bought other homes now. Sellers and Buyers beware! Do not use this company to finance your real estate deals!

Flagstar Bank insurance money being delt out in 1/3rds

On September 2, 2012 my husband and I lost half of our house due to a plumbing leak. We have followed all the insurance requirements and have notified our lender (Flagstar). Since notifying our lender we have since been informed that Flagstar will take full control of our insurance funds, to be dulled out in increments of 1/3rd with an inspector that we pay for to inspect the jobs after each job is completed and before any other money is released. This is also after we had to have a notary notarized a document from Flagstar that required a supplemental form since the original required form was not legal in the state of California.

My husband and I understand the reasoning behind this policy, however after speaking with Flagstar they are unwilling to allow us a single lump sum with the understanding that their inspectors can come out after the work is done.

I am a disable Veteran and this is a VA Loan. If the weather changes it is going to it will become very difficult for us to live in the house since we have no kitchen and no sub flooring. We understand that we do have the option to stay in a hotel, but we also have three animals that must be boarded if we are not living there. This is an out of pocket expense that is reimbursable, but honestly not an option for us at this time.

Your best bet is to call your states Attorney Generals office who if one is in existence in your state can give you information on who to contact in the office which governs insurance companies. They are the only ones I know wo might have a remedy to this siituation. Generally, you can file online. Give them a call, they usually get things moving pertty quickly. Good Luck

Lost my job in May, 2009. Started my "Loan Modification with Flagstar bank in June, 2009, just got my rejection letter: I guess the Obama program wants us to stop paying our mortgage and then we may be available for these programs. My savings is almost gone and I wilkl have to start missing my home mortgage payments. Never missed one in 21 years. Here is Flagstar's rejection letter to prove this:

Flagstar Rejection Letter and Information from the Attorney General’s Office

March 17, 2010
Dear customer, Flagstar Bank has reviewed the information you provided to be considered for the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Home Affordable Modification Program. Unfortunately, we are unable to proceed with modifying your mortgage under this program because you DO NOT meet one or more of the basic program mortgage and property eligibility requirements established by the Department of the Treasury as noted below:

“DEFAULT NOT IMMINENT
“We are unable to offer you a Home Affordable Modification because you are CURRENT on your mortgage loan and after reviewing the financial information you provided us, we have determined that YOU ARE NOT AT RISK OF DEFAULT because: you have not documented a financial hardship that has; reduced your income or increased your expenses, thereby impacting your ability to pay your mortgage as agreed.

Dean; I have documented a $90, 000 loss in pay because of my job loss. An increase in my monthly expenses of $1, 387 because of the job loss; Things the company paid for that I have to pick up now:
1. Car payment $404
2. Cell phone $126
3. Internet $39
4. Health Insurance $554
5. Life insurance $264

Hi,

I stumbled upon your website after doing a seach for lawsuits against flagstar bank. I figured there would be people that would in the least read my story, if anything to add to the countless stories of people screwed over by the mortgage companies.

In July of 2009, I was let go from my job. At the time my wife and I were current on our bills. Knowing that losing 60% of our income was going to have a severely adverse effect on our expenses I contacted my mortgage company to explain the situation. I asked them about my options (at the time we were current on our mortgage). Flagstar bank told me that being that I was current on my mortgage, they couldn't do anything to help me--I had to be three months behind before they could start any processes. I called roughly every week asking about different plans--my goal was a forebearance, which they claim on their website was an option. I knew if they could hold off the hounds so to speak for a few months, we would be back on our feet. Well, we fell behind--there was no way we could pay all of our bills on just my wife's salary. So the mortgage went three months past due. Upon this happening, flagstar officially allowed us to apply for their loan modification program. We sent in all of the paper work they request and it appeared that maybe there would be hope. The weekly calls to them that I made all resulted in the same answer--'it takes X number of months in the program to go for loan modification' Loan modification? I just wanted a forebearance. Well, my only option they gave me was the loan modification.

My wife's job was about to be outsourced so we were left with the posibility of no income. We made the mistake of moving out of our house (to another state where family was) in order to survive. Funny to say mistake, huh? Live in the house and starve or move in with family to survive.

In December of 2009 we moved in with family. Flagstar was fully aware it was temporary in our eyes. Yes, we changed our licenses and car registrations over to the new state--we had to--it's the law. We kept the utilities going in our house. Flagstar was fully aware of this and told us just to keep calling them and sending in whatever info they needed.

All along my weekly calls to flagstar seemed like a beacon of hope "Don't worry, you're in default but not in foreclosure yet" I was told on a regular basis.

In May of 2010, we started getting harrassing calls from flagstar (we were getting calls all along but they were easily diffused). Then one night they called and my 2 year old daughter answered the phone, garbled something at them and hung up. Two weeks later we were served papers. My wife called and asked why when they were 'working with us' all this time they would cut the cord. The rep stated that they had called and we mumbled something and hung up and therefore they no longer had to help us.

Many more phone calls were placed with flagstar and once again it seemed like they would work with us. We sent in paystub after paystub, bank statements, hardship letters hell, if they wanted a blood sample I would've bled on a piece of paper and faxed it to them. And every week they told me that we weren't at the point of no return. Every week they told me our loan modification would be reviewed and we'd get an answer.

Now we got a letter in the mail stating that a hearing was going to be held. That date came and went (we were told our attendance was not necessary). A sale date was to be set, but nobody had any information on when--not their loan modification department, not their lawyer, no one. We never got anything in the mail.

I continued my calls to them. Asking for any information. On september 8th, 2010, I sopoke with a rep and told her I needed the sale date postponed--that was what their reps kept telling me to do. she looked at my files and said 'wait, your sale date is Sept 3rd." Apparently they did postpone the sale date. But never told me.

So on September 24th I call them again (my sale date was moved to Oct 4th--and no, no letter was sent that time either) asking about the status. Mind you, i was now calling them every 3-4 days. I was told for the millionth time that my request was in final review and hopefully they'd have an answer this week. Well, today I called them again and I was told that my loan modification was denied on September 24th. I asked why. The rep told me that because we did not live there and it was an fha loan, it couldn't be approved. I told the rep that we still planned on moving back into the house. Well, without proof of that they would not postpone my sale date again.

So now here i am writing to you telling you my story. I know the mistakes I made here--I know I should have gotten a lawyer months ago. I know I should not have listened to Flagstar and done anything else to avoid this. I trusted what their reps said. Now in these next few days I have to decide: Do we file a Chapter 13 or do we just let the sale happen.

Thanks for reading this. Maybe my mistakes will serve some good to someone before they make the same mistakes.

I have just finished the initial paperwork to get my documentation into underwriting for assistance with our loan. I am surprised that our SPC ( single point of contact ) can not even tell me at this point what programs we might pre-qualify for based on the information they have right now. I got a job at a call center for a global bank that is providing homeowners with assistance in getting into a program that they can pre-qualify for based on the information given on the phone. I am already getting worried that I am not being given any information about my status but trust me I am speaking with the company that I am working for and if there is any discrepancy in what they are doing I am going to file a class action law suit !

Take it from me you need to contact the Federal Government (HUD) via written communication, THAT is the only way this bank will perform in axcordance to the law. After 2 .5 years the feds finally took contro of my situation and forced the bank to modify my loan to a 2.5% interest rate. Good Luck!

Curtis I have went through some what of the same thing with Flagstar on there modification. They sent back our payments stating that we had to reapply for the modification upon reapplying for the modification home got foreclosed on. This is a brief description of what happen. I was forced into foreclosure and currently in the process of taking them to court. Flagstar stated that they had everything they needed from me and that the sale date was canceled but never did.

I feel that they need to pay for what their doing to people and the lies have to stop.

Thanks,

I agree with shirleysure. There ought to be someone overseeing these financial institutions to make sure they are doing it "right". I've been working with FlagStar for the last several months faxing in document after document per their request. I followed every step to the T. Each time I'd call for a "status", there was always a "missing document" and to fax it over right away. I was told NOT to call back the same day but wait two or three days before calling to get an update. This crap went on for months. Just TODAY I found out that my 3 kids and myself are in the process of being evicted and was told that there's nothing that can be done about it. It went from faxing in a "missing document" to "Your case has been transferred to Foreclosure...did you not get my email?" THE BALL WAS DROPPED! I was totally in the dark as to what the hell was going on in the background while I was trying to get qualified for a program. It's sad to say that the nicest person that I've talked to at FlagStar was a gentleman in the Evictions Department named Michael.
