DISH Network Cancelling Dish

I was suppose to get a new contract for 2 years, through my email to be signed, this included all new receivers including the hopper 3 DVR with the americas Top 200. I did not receive the contract or the new equipment, I called to cancel my service, and they are trying to tell me I have signed up for 2 more years (ask for copy of contract that I never received or signed) I was paid up until September 17, but they cancelled my service immediately, I called Dish back and telling them I was paid till the 17, the day I ask for service to end, and they would not turn service back on. Thank god I have a small tv antenna for my locals and smart tv.

Desired outcome: Refund 10 days of not having the service, and wave any charges.

DISH Network Lack of local Orlando Florida ABC programs!

We have not had local ABC Orlando Florida station service since the beginning of 2023! We pay for the local services but haven't seen any results. Enough is enough settle the damn contract because time is really running out to switch to different cable services regardless of penalties!

A customer for over 20 years but even my patience is wearing thin!

Desired outcome: Return of local Orlando Florida WFTV services NOW!

They didn’t take it, so they cannot return it. Only the local channel owner can do that. I’m assuming it’s Cox Media.

DISH Network Dish tv--

Have lost several channels due to "lost signal "--have aimed the satellites as instructed by person at DISH ,everything done as instructed--checked my wires,connections and asked them what next--well the person said that they can send a technician out for $ 95.00 ,if I don't want that they can cut that price if I choose a monthly maintenance program for a fee ! They said that I should upgrade my equipment as well--I was complimented for being a DISH customer for 23 years--haha not for long though if I can find other alternatives ! I am living with the loss of channels ,a lot of money per month for garbage channels !

DISH Network Internet Service

I have reported to Dish that my modem shuts down 4 or 5 times a day for 15 minutes, sometimes long. I have been scheduled 4 times for a tech to come out and replace my modem. And 4 times the tech has failed to show. This is shoddy service for a long time customer. I want my modem replaced and I'm not waiting another week, I've been waiting 2 weeks as it is. Either fix it or I cancel my service, its as simple as that.

Desired outcome: Replace my modem ASAP!!!

DISH Network Billing

I was told to pay one amount on my bill I paid that amount the next monrning my services was off I called in and was told that the computer made a error and didn't charge 19.99 and that my bill dropped and that I had to pay that amount to get my services back on graned I spoke with a agent whom told me to pay the exact amount I paid and i did Dish didn't try to even do anything for me not good company no good customer service don't try to help there customers whom has been there for a long time they are terrible company I am sending back everything to them monday! I paid 259.94 what I was told to pay total amount.

Desired outcome: Dish should have made things right due to not my error but the computer error not tell a customer what you can't do but help your customers all customers not just me all customers should be treated right this is very wrong

DISH Network Parental Controls on Dish Network

I wanted to report that there are at least two movies erotic eats and stealing lust that should be X rated that are showing up as R rated under free movies under on demand.  I think because they are showing up as R rated the parental controls are not blocking them but I also have to block nudity and it is not blocking it either.  You need to remove these movies under free movies under on demand due to this issue.

The ratings are done by the Motion Picture Association(MPA) and applies to anything movie related. Also, the on demand is controlled by the specific channel owner. Whichever channel the content came from us whom you’d want to contact.

DISH Network onsite customer service

Have a vacation rental where guests expect to have the equipment working. On of the units, we have 3 in this home, is not working. Called customer service to have a technician come and diagnose the problem and have it fixed. Was told over and over I had to be there, (It is a rental, I am not there) or have my guests call and see what the problem is before they could issue a work order. I am not putting my guests in that position, why is it so difficult to call, say there is a problem, AND have them come out to fix? I will be looking for another provider who has better customer service when there is a problem.

You can call and require a tech, but it wouldn’t be covered under a standard procedure or the protection plan, so you’d have to pay the $95 fee. You can also call a local retailer to do exactly what you’re asking them to do. What you’re asking Dish to do is outside of their scope.

DISH Network Billing

My bill keeps getting raised by DishNetwork. With no changes in programming, no equipment changes, no movie rentals absolutely nothing. Then experiencing loss from Dish of channels such as NBC and WeTv. Which they made no adjustment in lowering our bill with such loss of channels on our line up. I’ve been calling DishNetwork over and over again since early this year for a resolution. With no resolution. Only thing they did for me, a customer of over 20 years was to lower my package. I was told my bill is so high for one reason is I’m paying $22 a month for the recording feature on my equipment. I never use and didn’t want. When they installed it they said you won’t be charged if you don’t use it. Today Dish told me they always change customers for equipment no matter what kind of equipment you have. I was on the phone today with three (3) different people. What used to be a wonderful company is no longer customer oriented. I think they need new management for starters.

DISH Network Ridiculous process (or impossible?) to cancel service!

'Must speak with a customer service representative' to cancel service (cannot chat or email or send letter in regular mail), but noone answers the phone - 54 min and counting. Called again on a different phone as experiment and chose to 'change programming', and someone answered the phone within 4 minutes. Seriously? Now this man had to 'transfer me to the cancellation dept, where I ended up on hold as well', despite my request not to be transferred to a hold loop.

This company has no respect for anyone's time, and apparently makes cancellation super hard - I can only assume - in hopes that people won't have time to waste holding on the phone. Absolutely ridiculous. May contact BBB about this as well - once I see how long I'll be on hold - but chances are the call will just 'drop' at the one hour mark. Again - ridiculous. Shame on them.

update: someone finally answered the phone at the 59 min mark. was finally able to cancel service after anther 15-20 min (guess he was not allowed to accept my 'cancel/not interested in other plans' statement. whew!

The BBB is a private organization. They have no actual authority and cannot make any company do anything. They are just an expensive complaint site(they charge companies for accreditation). You’re upset that you called one department that doesn’t have a lot of people calling it answering their phones, but the loyalty department(who handles a lot more than just cancellations) for having a queue? Welcome to the real world.

DISH Network Television services

I called dish network to ask when my 2 year contract expires and was told that it was expired so I asked the agent if I could cancel with no penalties and he said yes. So I made arrangements to switch to cable TV because I have problems every winter with my satellite dish getting covered in snow and the TV not working and I have to climb on top of my roof and clean it off. And I am going south this winter and Airbnb my house and I can't have that problem my guests are not going to climb on the roof. So I got my cable TV equipment and Installed it and started my service and I called dish network and the agent said I had 9 weeks left in my contract and I couldn't cancel without having to pay for the remaining service plus a 500$ early termination penalty. He said they had no record of my phone call and basically was calling me a liar that I talked to anyone there I got angry swore at him and hung up. I want my contract cancelled and no penalties or cost to me for their employee error telling me that my contract expired I would have waited for it to expire if I was told that I had 9 weeks left I just don't think that I should have to pay for two television services and only use one because of their mistake I can get my phone records to show that I called them at how long I was on the phone with them.

Desired outcome: No payment for the remainder of my contract and no early termination penalty

You are confused somewhere. An early termination fee for 9 weeks on the maximum end would be $60. It is $20 for every uncompleted month within a 2 year commitment.

As far as waiving it, can you prove what you were told? That is you proving, not them.

DISH Network $400 gift card

I received the $400 gift card, registered it as instructed. The phone call indicated the card was active. The call informed me I could use it to purchase online, and in person. I tried to use it online and the card was rejected. I tried to use it to purchase gas for my car, and again it was rejected. I called the Mastercard company, Alviere, and the customer service rep indicated my card didn't have a primary address and that's why it wouldn't work. Called DISH customer service rep and he told me the primary address was filled out so the card should work. Went to the gas station and the card was denied. Call Alviere and again was told the primary address at DISH wasn't filled out. Called DISH again and this time was online at my DISH website. Explained this was the second time I had called and what was wrong. They told me to call Alviere. I tried to use it for the third time at the grocery store. Denied for the third time. I'm going to call DISH one more time and request a new card. If that doesn't work I will broadcast that DISH is not work your time and move on. I'm tired of spending time on the phone and getting no where.

Desired outcome: I want a new card that works.

DISH Network Can not get dish to disconnect my service!

On April 28th 2023 I called to disconnect my Dish service. The rep said his system was down but he would take care of the disconnect. I received an email that show this transaction. That a box would be sent to return equipment within 60 to 90 days. Dish continued to charge me for their now discontinued service. Two times taking money out of my bank account. I and my bank have disputed these charges. I have tried five additional time to cancel with no success. Dish is incapable of disconnecting my service. Not a good business model. Filed a BBB complaint!

DISH Network dish tv

I have been loosing channels consistently I called them on Saturday June 21st. I got customer then was told I would have to talk with technical. The stated it would be 45 minutes before they could call me back. 90 minutes no call back. I called again and decided to stay on hold over an hour (listening to bad music) no answer. I called again customer service wanted to send me back to technical again. Nope that wasn't happening. I went to the local shop they called dish and was told it would be 2 hours before they could issue a work order. Seems like they don't want to give me service just to send them over $150 per month. On Friday July 28 I will be canceling DISH and going with a local provider. I will also let other people know how terrible dish is. I am now down to 4 maybe 5 channels. They kept trying me to get the hopper, never said they would even look into the "Complete loss of signal".

Desired outcome: I wanted them to fix channel to no avail too late for them now.

DISH Network Thiefs!

I returned my equipment to them and was hit with a $486.59 charge for NOT returning it. I called and they advised that yes...they do have my equipment but they haven't scanned it back into their system. That isn't my problem! I told them I wanted my credit card refunded with the $486.59 and the $43.47 (over payment on my list bill). They advised that they have credited my card and it would take 24 hours. Well, we are at 72 hours now and no refund on my card! I logged into my account and it shows I have $530.06 in "new tv charges" with a balance of $0.00. They also state I did not return all the equipment. YES I did!

Desired outcome: Complete and total refund to my credit card in the amount of $530.06!

DISH Network To obtain my $300.00 MasterCard promo for switching to dish tv.

I have repeatedly called your company for help in obtaining my promo mastercard. Just trying to get through on your phone is a hassle. I was told they would call back in 45 minutes, they never did. I ended up calling your company back and I have spoken to 6 people from customer service and have gotten no where. They keep telling me to go on line and download my Direct tv bill and I have tried so many times it locks me out now. What kind of scam are you trying to pull. We are senior citizens, handicapped and not computer literate. We asked if we could mail in a copy of our Direct tv bill but they insist we have to do it on line. We cannot get the bill to go through because it won't accept our password. I am totally frustrated and beginning to think you are making it so hard so you don't have to give us the credit card at all. Not a very good way to start out a business with new customers!

DISH Network DishTV

I signed up for dishtv under 3 year contract set monthly fee, no additions, showtime, etc!

First few months were ok, then a glitch happened and it was impossible to notify them when they overcharged my account totalling $275.00 by june 2023.

On june 15th: I called to notify them that I was not paying them anymore! Thus getting new service elsewhere. So, they send me a demand letter notifying me they would draft my bank account $368.79. Not!

Put stop payment on account. Cost $30.00

I have notified, complained and updated this situation currently to the bbb!

DISH Network Deceptive practice of contract agreement

Dish agreed to a New old-style receiver, which was sent to replace the old reciever that quit working. The reason for this request was because my husband has Alzheimers and is unable to learn new processes. Because my contract had expired, I entered into a new 24 month contract in order to keep my bill from increasing substantially. At this time I have 23 months remaining. This was recent. The past few days I noticed I was unable to access some of my programming. I thought it was probably a glitch until I lost the weather channel Interactive. It was completely gone from the lineup. When I agreed to the new contract, I was not informed that I would lose programming One month into the new contract. I believe this is illegal to enter into a contract and change its content before its fulfilled. IE loss of programming. I was lied to by omission.

I would never entered into this contract had I known I would lose programming, especially the Interactive weather channel, which is my main reason for having Dish.

Desired outcome: I am asking for my channels to be restored or release me from this fraudulent contract.

DISH Network Hopper plus upgrade

I have 2 complaints. My promotion ended so I called and was offered Loyalty promo. Promo was never applied. I found this out 2 weeks later when I called them with another issue. They fixed promo issue, and offered a free “upgrade” called Hopper Plus. Free upgrade with $95 service fee to hook it up OR I could sign up for insurance “protection package” for $10 a month.

The second agent was a very nice guy who helped me get around this problem. I was already annoyed on my third call because I’ve had nothing but problems w/upgrade. Half the buttons on the remote don’t even work anymore. The system freezes and my tv even shut down and I couldn’t restart it. I called customer service to remove the upgrade and like a parrot, she kept repeating “no we can’t downgrade the system” over and over. Customer service is one of the worst I’ve experienced.The agents are basically salespeople w/poor English skills unhelpful, inconsiderate and unfriendly whose main goal is to end the call as soon as possible and push new svcs and plans FREE…for one month. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she repeatedly asked me for what purpose! It is clear this company is out for blood- can care less about their customers satisfaction. I would cancel but once you’re roped in for another 2 years you have to pay through the nose…you’ll be paying some ridiculous fee EVERY MONTH for the remainder of contract. I’m so sorry I got the upgrade. I had Dish over 20 years ago-it was wonderful then. But I caution you Dish is not what it used to be. I am sorry I didn’t cancel my Dish service when I had the chance.
