Bought theCub Cadet Enduro 42 inch 19 hp from Home Depot 2 years ago. I also bought the triple bagger. In less than 2 years the engine went. It was a piston rod that went through the block. Apparently online this seems to be a common problem. Cub cadet does not cover the issue. It would cost me $1700 for the same replacement engine. That would be dumb on my part to buy the same thing and expect a different result. Maybe if it was covered for 5years. It's a shame I had my last cub cadet for 15 years. I can't afford $2,000 every 2 years. I don't know what I am going to do. My 80 year old neighbor has been cutting my lawn. This is outrageous. I don't know if a new CEO has taken over in recent years and doesn't care. Two thousand dollars to a multi billion company doesn't mean anything, but to an average hard working American it's alot.
Desired outcome: I would like a new engine.

That's absolutely unacceptable — a mower engine shouldn't grenade in two years. I'd file a complaint with the BBB and your state attorney general, citing the known piston rod defect. Sometimes implied warranty laws cover you beyond the written one. No hardworking person should be stuck with a $2,000 paperweight.
