Carolina Auto Direct

Watch out for Carolina Auto Direct, LLC's sales tactics. I applied for a loan online for a truck and was approved. When I talked to the salesman, they tried to add about $10,000 to the loan with their maintenance service, insurance, tax, tag, and $599 doc fee. I asked for a listing of charges and the finance rate, but the salesman couldn't give me an exact rate. I told him I didn't want any extras and would transfer tags. I also said that if I didn't like the truck, I wouldn't get it. I decided to go look at the truck and see what all the charges were. The salesman wanted a $1000 deposit to hold the truck, but the next morning I decided not to get it and texted the salesman to let him know. He replied that the deposit was nonrefundable, even though I didn't hear him say that and the receipt he sent after running my card stated that the partial payment was not refundable upon cancellation. I talked to the General Manager, who offered $500 back, but I disputed the charge with my bank. I have texted the salesman and left a message for the General Manager to call me back, but haven't heard anything yet. The way they do business is shady and they should send customers a paper like this before running a credit card for a deposit.
