Been a member of Solidarity since 2018. Only had one sharing event from then until 2025 when I an emergency apendectomy in April 2025, along with several other smaller events in my family that year. Solidarity does nothing at all except "reprice" the bills internally. That's literally it. They don't call the provider to negotiate; they don't send payments. They won't tell you when they will make payment. Won't even say if it's a matter of months or year. It's been a year since my surgery and I had to go on a payment plan to avoid collections. Solidarity says that they will put my medical need to the back of the line if I halt the membership fees. (I can't imagine how long THAT line is.) So now I'm stuck paying Solidarity in the hopes that at some point in the future they help me pay for the surgery. I really can't afford both the Solidarity payment since i'm also paying the hospital for a SURGERY!

Finally Solidarity's customer service used to be much better. Now they don't even try to act like they care. I suppose their employees are run down from getting negative calls all day.

Finally, finally... I called Solidarity today about a separate doctor's office bill for $300. I received an "Explanation of Sharing" from them stating that they had "repriced" the bill to "fair" amount of $0. I asked the representative to confirm that they take the position that a fair fee for a doctor's visit is $0. At that point the rep tells me the "Explanation of Sharing" is a mistake and that what they really need is an itemized bill. I asked for a corrected letter. The rep replied, "no i can't do that because the matter is closed!" Rep just couldn't care less.

No one should join Solidiarity. You would be better off stocking away an equal amount in cash for your own future medical needs.

Desired outcome: Pay the surgery provider and give me a correct "Explanation of Sharing" for the other $300 doctor visit.
