Running a disorganized Scam
I really wish I saw the other bad review before I got involed with this rescue. Wasted two months with this rescue when I could have been actually saving a puppy. They are exteremly disorganized, setting up multiple home visits with multiple volunteers who couldn't follow through. Was lied to and told I was the only person to fill out an application and as long as we passed everything the dog was ours. That changed when I was asked for a deposit and was told there was "hundreds" of applications and I needed to put down a deposit to guarantee that the puppy would go to me. Commented on their Facebook page about our puppy and was contacted by 3 other people saying the puppy was also promised to them. Started to get suspicious and the next day got another call asking for my nonrefundable deposit. I again asked if I put down the deposit that the puppy was mine and was told yes. Got a call from a volunteer who warned us that PMAR does this all the time. That they show a puppy, get hundreds of nonrefundable deposits and then tell you the puppy is no longer and your option is to put your deposit for an older dog or lose your deposit. I thanked her. When they called me back later that day for my deposit, I told them I needed to make sure that the puppy was healthy (puppy was in the hospital) before putting down a deposit. Puppy developed parvo two weeks after being placed in their care. I got an email 8 hours later saying I was declined after being approved to adopt. I work with a rescue here in NJ and have never seen a rescue run this way. I know many rescues are hurting for adopters and donations but this is not the way to go about it. Rescues like PMAR give the rest of us a bad name.

Too Many Dogs
Run by Saleena Hernandez who keeps too many dogs in her small apartment. Breaking the law by doing so as it is a residential property, NOT commercial. Collecting THOSANDS of dollars in donations without a license to do so, also being reported to New York State Dept of Licensing as well as IRS. Has infected animals come in that have parvo which is easily spread to other animals. Also usues spay wagon to alter animals when it is available, therefore the animals leave her possession without being spayed/neutered for long periods of time. NO LEGIT rescue allows animals out of their possession without first altering these animals. Charges a very large amount to adopt these unaltered animals from her as well, with the adopter "promising" to bring the dog back to her neighborhood when she can schedule the spay wagon to arrive. Not everyone comes that day and therefore these animals remain unaltered and out of sight, out of mind. Also dog in care of her foster was not taken care of properly, got out and was killed by being hit by a car. really, is this the type of person you allow to foster? Is this the kind of rescue you want to adopt from? Not in a million years would i adopt from her, nor give her a dime which she collects illegally. Very shady rescue ethnics and person in my opinion. Proof of events being sent to animal control.

Funny how once paying to find out if Pibbles And More Animal Rescue or PMAR is available, it is, according to Department of State's Division of Corporations, which means I or anyone else can go down tomorrow, pay the incorporation fee and become PMAR or whatever you call yourself these days.
10 bucks paid to find out was not really hard at all, in fact, well worth it. Also no name is licensed as well with Dept of State OR the IRS. Oh no Saleena, you do NOT need to be 501 to collect funds, that is true. You ARE running a business out of your apartment. What else do you think it is? You are collecting funds which is income, from your apartment. Whatever you use said funds on, is your word. Maybe you may want to take a class on how to spell and read English. The above is horrific to say the least. Also do not think you are any professional on the Pitbull or otherwise. You are far from professional. Keep patting yourself on the back, you need the support.
Dont lie Saleena. You know damn well you use the spay wagon WHEN it comes around. I have proof of days you have pulled puppies from the south, and when it was in fact altered, months later, while those dogs were no where in your care. During that time, which they matured enough to breeding age. How many pups COULD have been born during that time? You going to lie about that? You going to lie about running a business from an apartment in a residential area? UNlicensed business. This is all proven and is all reported to the proper agencies. Have you paid your business taxes per NYS laws on running that rescue business from a place that you do not own? Has the Homeowner approved business usage on said property? Does it not bother you that you are collecting THOUSANDS of dollars in chip ins, PERSONALLY. You may never say NOW, that they are tax deductible, but honestly now Saleena, HOW LONG have you been saying your INC is pending as well as your 501? Well over a year. Why is it YOU cannot pull animals from shelters but rely on other rescues with rights to pull FOR you? Hmmmm Saleena? Be honest now, if you can. You wanna lie and deny, go right ahead. The truth will come out in the end and all of your little followers, and ### kissers, will finally see the truth. Also are you going to lie about not picking up after all the dogs when you walk them? Again, punishable by fines according to NYS/NYC laws. Maybe YOU think that living in crates in a cramped space is fine, but to me, that is how hoarding starts. Dont lie and say they dont live in crates either. Where do YOU claim they are when YOU are at work? You know they are not running all over, being happy. Saleena stop your lies. You are NOT a good rescue. You are NOT licensed. ANYONE can get incorporated, in any state. Nice try. Keep backpedaling. Once the truth is seen, you have nowhere to backpedal to.

About a month ago my dog attacked a porky pine an I had just paid my car payment so I did not have the money to bring her to re vet. The vet have have me a number for a woman who works at pibbles an more. The woman told me that I could have my dog back an viset her when ever I wanted. Now she says my dog can barely walk an kept comming up with excuses. Now they say my dog is being moved to pa. I calls the Vermont state police an they are going to go get my dog from this woman but nobody will give me her name so they have to track her nnumber. An yet still no contact from the founder of pibble an more
this is a horribly run rescue, and I have lots of people looking into her practices

Chris Woodcock -FYI - 9/10/13 I have had a hard time getting in touch with his references, he gave me two others and I couldn't get a hold of them either. I did speak to the wife of this reference and she said she would not recommend adopting a dog to him. She said his current dog is not trained and does not listen. He is kept in his crate all the time and Chris just doesn't put in the effort to train him. He had even talked about getting rid of the current dog and getting a new one.
The person who posted this complaint needs TO GET A LIFE! It is so obvious that the person has a "personal" issue w/Seleena! I for one have faith in PMAR and will NOT pay any mind to this nonsense! Just look at their FB page or their website. Always running some kind of fundraiser or something to help these poor animals that would otherwise be left for dead or put to sleep at the shelter! And this woman has a FULL-TIME job! I give her madd props, for lack of a better word! And as far as her boyfriend being in jail? Good people make mistakes and as far as I know, the reason he was in jail had NOTHING to do with the animals welfare or Seleena's rescue. Leave the woman, her children, her man, and most of all, her rescue alone! Who cares how many dogs/cats she has? If she has a few too many, I'm sure it's just a temporary solution til she can place them safely. They are all vetted, loved and well cared for. Find something to do with yourself and get your facts straight before you really hurt someone with your LIES! PMAR ROCKS!
I recently found a lovely puppy by PMAR. I gave them 5 references in total, I followed up with my references who all assured me they called them back. Now, I trust my friends and family to not lie to me about calling a rescue back. I got an email declining my application because they were not able to get in touch with my ref's, and apparently there is a 72 hour limit on applications. I am a proud bully owner already, and the one of my referrences they did talk to gave me a stellar recommendation. But they denied my application without even speaking to me personally, without meeting me or seeing my home. It seems to me that if you are serious about finding good homes for your dogs, you cannot just give up after 72 hours when your volunteers won't take returned phone calls. Like I told Dawn when she emailed me, these people are ridiculous. BEWARE.
I had a horrible experience this week. I will definitely be looking into their practices, the way they treat people is horrific. Hope the dogs are being well cared for. Sorry, this happened to you. We had a heartwrenching experience as well.

I hope more people file complaints about this rescue, the way they deal with people who are trying to rescue is horrible. I've dealt with the public my entire adult life and this was by far the worst experience I've had to deal with.
Sounds like personal issue to me too, These type of people live for the drama... if there is no drama they will create it only if you let them .. ignore her she is not worth a second of your time, , , she will find drama elsewhere... Thank you Saleena for all that you do to help these loving pets

Maybe Saleena should take a few moments to respond to concerning emails sent to her instead of dismissing people so easily. Horrible way to run a rescue!
Thank you I got MY approval from the aspca! & Animal contral & aspca police came here & guess WHAT? ALL MY ANIMALS ARE STILL HERE! HAPPY HEALTHY & LOVED..

This article is a load of crap. I know it's hard to not listen to these horrible things people say but I agree with everyone else pay no mind to her or him. They clearly don't know anything about your rescue! And the fact that she had to bring Katie into this is horrible, accidents happen. It's happen to plenty of people as much as that sucks! Katie was a dog who was rescued and lived an awesome life bc of u and I have one of her puppies and for not one minute do I regret adopting from u! I love my dog and glad u were able to give me an awesome gift. And as for them telling us not to donate to u pshhh if I didn't have financial problems of my own I would love to donate money or foood. Saleena don't end PMAR bc these dogs need u! I see u being the next pitbulls and parolees :)

I'm so very sorry you have a negative experience with them. They do a lot for the animals, and they pulled a dog for me when no one else would. I knew Ben would be a good fit for my family. Other rescues told me with kids they thought it wouldn't work. After speaking with pibbles members at length, they decided to give it a go. Ben has been a great family member for over a year now. I tried working with another group for a dog previously, no one acted quick enough and the dog was put down before I could get him pulled. I imagine at times this can be an overwhelming job for anyone, and highly emotional. But Pillble is certainly no scam. They work hard for every animal. They do the best they can under less than ideal circumstances and time constraints. Don't let this one post fool you. As an adopter, I couldn't have been happier with how well they worked with and for me.
