This bank is an embarrassment. I had a fraudulent charge on my credit card at a Walmart in Mexico for $690.93. I was told to cancel my card, which I did, and my account would be credited in 2 hrs. That didn’t happen. Called back after being on hold for over 20 min. & told it would be credited that evening. That didn’t happen. Called the following day on hold for over 30 min. & told it would be 10 days after an investigation. I told them it was unacceptable & would like to speak to the supervisor & asked for the name of the head of the fraud dept. then was hung up on. Called Walmart fraud dept. several times to try & find out what items were purchased to see if they were placed for sale on social media & whether M & T Bank contacted them & they, expectedly, would not release any information. Called the bank once again to find out the status of my “alleged” dispute, once again, to no avail. Please do your diligence when choosing a bank. M & T Bank should not be on your list.
