coupon - won't refund service not provided
A Christmas present for 2 Hot Air balloon rides were purchased - this company is siting their pilot was hurt and now cannot provide the service the coupon was purchased for, Sara said they don't know when they will be able to offer this - but the coupon can be used next year if and when they start flying again. I had two leave several messages in trying to book this event and finally when I called back to back days to get them, this is the story I was told. Sara said I could contact livingsocial.com and they said a refund would be given if I did not want to try and wait. I contacted livingsocial.com but they said they will not give a refund. How can a company sell a service and then not refund your money if a service cannot be provided, that is very bad business practice. I am in an industry with hundreds of people I deal with on a monthly basis, I will ensure that everyone I speak to knows livingsocial is not handling business like a company should, and they should be ashamed. My next complaint will be the BBB. DO NOT PAY FOR COUPONS FOR A SERVICE YOU ARE GETTING LATER, JUST NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE. CHECK OUT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS YOU SIGN TOO - BEWARE!

bait and switch, no refund
I bought a voucher from Living Social for a chimnney cleaning. They came out and told me that since I live in a 2-story house it would be an extra $189. I told them no way, and I was going to seek a refund. I contacted Living Social and they contacted the cleaning company (Delanco Air) and said they would honor the coupon., I tried calling and e-mailing them for weeks to no avail and decided to seek a refund because I didn't want to deal with a company that didn't care about is customers. Living Social said my refund was outside of their 'refund policy' and refused to help me. I will NEVER use Dalanco Air or Living Social again.
misleading offer - no refund
I purchased 3 vouchers for the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel in Coconut Grove. The wording of the offer was misleading. Living Social charged my credit card for $592.20 instead of the $376.20 I was expecting.
I immediately contacted Living Social and was told they don't give refunds on some offers... and this was one of them.
So their mode of operation is to put out misleading offers and refuse a refund... even minutes after the transaction.
This is what is called a con.
My suggestion to everyone is... Beware of Living Social!

dont buy a voucher there - save yourself losing your money
I used to be such a fan of this company. After joining about 2 years ago, I would just buy, buy, buy it must have been a couple hundred of vouchers over the past two years. I loved it - I was getting such a good deal on each item and back then when the merchant went out of business or didn't honor the deal, LivingSocial customer service was wonderful about helping to resolve or refunding the voucher. However, over the last 6 months (was it a change of management?) they have gone from a nice company to the WORST place you can buy a voucher from. Their customer service stinks - they use not common sense, they belittle and undermine you. They don't care about if you get screwed by the merchants or not - or if they voucher was totally fraudulent or not. Their attitude now is ALWAYS - touch luck. You lost your money, pal! They refuse to help. They TRULY SUCK! I have had several vouchers over the past six months that I lost my money to them on due to the merchants not honoring them, misrepresenting what was offered, going out of business or just not having what was purchased by the voucher. Every instance LivingSocial basically said "screw you"! After being with them so long and being such a loyal customer, you must know how horrified I felt. I have canceled all my subscriptions and no longer buy vouchers from them. Groupon is my savior - they are a _lot_ better.

I totally agree with your assessment of them, as I'm sure many readers of your post do. Your anger is justified, but, when you
go ballistic and use language of the kind used in your post, you sound nearly as bad as them.
total scam!
Living Social is a total scam! We bought a room at the Denver Sheraton, advertised on Living Social for $119/night. We made the reservation, told them it was a living social deal, and were told everything was good to go. We paid attention to all the restrictions and black out dates, and literally planned our trip to Denver around the dates we could use this room. With 3 kids in tow, we arrived, had a great time and checked out. Just for fun, we checked our credit card the next day and realized we had been charged for the room AGAIN! Not only that, we were charged $272, the full price of the room! The hotel manager said we would have to contact Living Social, and Living Social said they would look into it. That was over a month ago! And the kicker is, the Sheraton was running a deal for $55 through Denver Tourism, so we actually paid $119+$272=$391 for a room we could've gotten for $55! Living Social is out to make a buck, not offer refunds for selling you erroneous deals.
no call back to make an appointment
I am very unhappy with living social. My husband bought a 90 minute massage for the both of us as a well to distress. After losing a child in 11/2011 I have not been myself and he got the living social deal as a one year distress gift. He got the deal in September 2012 and tried calling Light Spectrum Therapeutics in October 2012, but he got no reply. Thi...

Hello
i bought a present for my mother from a deal site livingsocial.com, it was a three piece swarovski jewellery set, the third party site was neverlandsales in which the jewellery was being sent from.
I have never received this item which i bought in October 20th 2012, it has still not arrived it £20.00 it was part of aChristmass present.
I first filed a complaint inNovemberr requesting where is my item, i have sent livingsocial.com about 20 emails many times there is no response or i get an email saying we are dealing with your case as fast as we can and then no more.
I have filed a dispute with paypal i thought they might help me, but i was too late it was past the 45 day limited i did not realise until it was too late that they would have helped me. I know its only £20.00 but thats not the point i have been robbed, well thats the way i feel, and am intent on trying to get my money back, but am at loose ends and cannot find anyone who will help me, please can you help me.
Each site is not responding to my emails i don, t no which way too turn am at my wits end, i just feel robbed.
i dont no what else i can say but just avoid them 2 sites. thank you take care
Purchased a voucher for merchandise at a local store based on the information given re the store by LivingSocial. Visited the store, not anything like advertised, nothing worth using voucher for. Contacted LivingSocial, which basically said too bad, so they do not stand behind their information or their merchants. Will not use again.
I bought deal from carpet cleaning company, when I called the company to make appointment, they said they don't serve my area...what? So I called Living Social, but i ended up hang up the phone after waiting for about 15 minutes with no answer. I emailed them wanted my money back but still no answer even until now. Living social is not a good company at all.
I ordered to vouchers and redeemed them with the merchant within the required time. Four months later not items were delivered. Each month I contacted LivingSocial and the merchant and each time they both fobbed me off. Four months in LivingSocial have sent an email saying I didn't redeem in time and tough.
Am now taking out a county court summons against them.
Bought a car wax and wash package and the vendor made and appointment and never showed up. Then i called 10 times and no one ever got back to me. When I called living social all they did was give me a credit which I didn't feel was acceptable given the time I had wasted and the fact that Ive used them for other things and never got a refund on anything else. Not happy. Will not use them again.
I have had terrible trouble with their vendors. ('course I USED TO buy a lot of LivingSocial vouchers!) It happened before, but I let it go. This last time, the cleaning service hasn't called me back to schedule my appointment, the voucher's about to expire, and LS said I can't get my money back or a credit! Because I didn't ask for a refund within 7 days of buying the voucher. Um... that's called STEALING.
Terrible company with poor customer service skills. I purchased something, they made a mistake and did not apply my $10 credit. I called and they told me that I could get part of my money back after I received the item and mailed it back to them, but I would still have to pay $8 as a return fee. Needles to say, I have to pay for their mistake.
Please do not buy from this company. My friends, family and co-workers no longer will.
I have purchased several vouchers through this company. But they have used my card fraudulently in March 2012 and done a charge of $59 without my authorization. There is no deal purchased and they refuse to refund my card. They said they will credit my account back but never did.
I have contacted AMEX and filed a complaint and also 7 on your side. This company is a fraud.
Awful site. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this site. I order a "deal" they took my money, and when i went to use the "voucher code" no dice. Nothing. So I contact living social thinking, I'm sure it's a simply error that can be corrected. Nope. Nothing. I got a nice canned email saying, "we'll get back to you on that." A complete and utter waste of time money and effort.
Bought two deals. One, the business refused to honor because Living Social promised double what the business was willing to give. The second "deal" was a discounted item. Went to the website and the company didn't even list this item as an available product, nor did I ever receive any kind of confirmation or response from them. Like yelp deals before it, never again!
Really the worst experience ever! For a recently living social adventure they sold more vouchers then there was space, so when I tried to book with the hotel, there was no more "living social" rooms. It's as if you had a store that had 10 items to sell and living social sold 15 vouchers. When asked for a refund, living social refused. Stay away from this terrible company - I'm canceling my alerts and telling all my friends.
no response from the vendor despite multiple attempts
I bought a voucher, tried to redeem it, no response from the vendor despite multiple attempts and LivingSocial refuse to refund me despite not being able to point out in their T's & C's why they don't have to. Their "Customer Service Director" (Arti Morarji, apparently) doesn't even have a phone number or email address. Laughable. Don't use them.
Bought multiple vouchers thinking it is legit, lost about 100$ as most of the busineses donot exist and the remaining have poor quality in terms of services or goods. If you want a refund for a unused voucher, just forget about it and donot waste your time. I have tried other daily deal websites, some even smaller than Living social, but this is the absolute worst esp in terms of customer service, return and the legitimacy of deals advertised. For example I tried to redeem a 59$ voucher for car detail and found out the business was closed. I sent pictures of it the customer service but still did not get a refund, inspite of providing evidence that the business does not exist.
my wife promised to never buy anything else from living social
Terrible customer service. My wife paid for a weekend at a bed and breakfast through Living social. When she contacted the B&B to make reservations, the owner said they were completely booked up through the dates in the original offer but they would honor the deal for a period almost a year from now (but won't book anything till then). My wife then tried to get a refund or credit from Living Social because the B&B was unable to complete the original contract. No help from Living Social and we are probably out the money at this point.
My wife promised to never buy anything else from Living Social and I promised to post our story to as many websites as I can find in the hopes that it will keep other people from making the mistake we did of doing business this this scam of a company.
vouchers not accepted
I purchased 6 vouchers for Kazoo Lala at the dallas City Performance Hall on dec. 14th. When we arrived, we were told that Living social had oversold the event and they did not have our tickets. There was no manager and all the will call people kept telling us was it was not their fault. They took our name and said they would give it to Living Social. A week later, I still have not gotten my refundof $144.00 despite 3 phone calls and 4 emails, none of which have been returned by Living Social.
I contacte the City of dalla and they at least responded and eplained that they were simply renting the venu to the merchant who was Cirque Dallas, but they asked for a few days to see if they could help and would get back to me. Do not buy from Living Social!
Sorry to hear about your living social mishap. But you should be thankful you didn't have to sit and endure the worse theatre arts performance ever. The "cirque" aspect of the show was the lamest thing I've ever seen. People left before the show ended, during the intermission and even the first 10 min of the show. No storyline, cirque was amateurish. So I hope you get your money back, but for the show you seriously didn't miss anything.
livingsocial is now promoting a duct cleaning scam in chicago
LivingSocial is now promoting a duct cleaning scam in Chicago, IL. I bought a voucher through LivingSocial for "Cleaning of all air ducts, HVAC inspection, and dryer vent cleaning" for $69 on August 21, 2012. Today is November 14, 2012. Three canceled appointments later, they still haven't showed to perform the service. Twice, I was stood up, waiting at home for them to show up. The third time, I called the day before to confirm. Sure enough, they called me back, needing to reschedule. This is a scam. LivingSocial doesn't take responsibility for it, either. Had to hold for 25 minutes just to talk to a live person. My solution: I brought the scam to the attention of my bank, and they are going to reverse the charges. I hope Fresh Air Duct Services and LivingSocial go out of business--the sooner the better for consumers.
I bought a similar deal -- called both numbers listed for the company which answered with recorded message, but then both mailboxes were full! Nearly a week of trying, no luck. Fishy. I'm resigned to losing my money.
living social charged my credit card for $758 without my authorization for 2 packages
SPAMMERS! STAY AWAY FROM LIVING SOCIAL DEALS! Living Social Charged my credit card for $758 without my authorization for 2 packages (vouchers) for vacation to Mexico. Living Social is refusing to give me my money back and just advised me to dispute the charges with my Discover card. They have never replied to Discover regarding this dispute. This is typical FRAUD.!
Absolutely! Stay away from Living Social deals. They will do nothing about problems. Groupons handle issues so much better with a much better customer service. You will never get a real live person at Living Social. I wll never use them again. Rhonda Lail, Tennessee
definitely do not buy any vacation packages
Definitely do NOT buy any vacation packages. We recently purchase a trip to Mexico and could not get there due to Hurricane Sandy. La Guardia airport was under water and yet according to the folks in Mexico the livingsocial deal does not include trip insurance!
Initially we were to lose the $500 we spent through the "Living social" supposed deal. Originally it was $300 something, but when I called to book a room they were conveniently all filled up which required us to "Upgrade" for another $200. After all that, the hurricane hit and we were not supposed to get our money back. My husband INSISTED on speaking to a manager and we are now able to reschedule for only certain months coming up AND we have to pay an additional $200 to do so. So our 4 night stay has now turned into $700. Which really is no deal at all. It's actually cheaper and easier to use expedia where you have the flight and the hotel all in one and you have the option to select Trip insurance.
I have also used livingsocial for meal vouchers. You truly do get what you pay for. I believe living social only benefits the company or seller. Never the consumer. It's not worth it. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
they are the worst deal company I have ever seen
I am writing from UAE, Dubai. I ordered philips home theatre system to my friends who is living in london. They sent me an order confirmeation e-mail. Ok it seems everything fine. But after order passed 18 days nobody has contacted me and didnt give a news or any info. So i wrote an e-mail to them 2 days ago. I didnt get any answer. After that i called them and i learned that MY ORDER HAS CANCELED WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE and PERMISSION. $#*! happens, i was waiting for the shipping news but they are telling me that order has canceled! And if i didnt call them im not going to learn my order is canceled.. Ok so after that i tried to log in to my livingsocial account, and then i tried all passwords i used in whole my life but it didnt logged in. So i tried to reset my password and it says ''There was a problem sending your password reset link: invalid email'' ? THEY ALSO deleted my account without my permission.. haha i will not use this lame company again. they can contact me and send me an order confirmation mail but their excuse is 'we cannot contact with you about the shipping so we canceled your order'. they are the worst deal company i have ever seen. groupon is much better than this.
Bought the jewelry offer three piece necklace, earrings and bracelet so called swarovski. My advice don't bother, complete rubbish, necklace broke before I even put it on.
scam on deals offered
I live in Italy and I was planning vacations in London. I bought a deal through living social UK for a dinner in one of those boats in the river Thames (City Cruises). It seemed to be a good deal, but when I tried to book, the telephone provided by the company was never answered. This was the same for more than 10 days. So, I sent an e-mail to book and after 3 days they replied that they were fully book for more than a month.
When a reached London, I went to city cruises to complain about the phone not answered and they told me that living social sold so many deals that they were to busy for that reason. I came back to Italy and sent an e-mail to city cruises saying all this. They agreed that it was their fault and they were willing to reimburse. However, living social said that under their policy you have 7 days to claim for reimbursement if you don't want the deal.
I explained to them that I was trying to book those days and even I sent them the e-mails exchanged and they said that they have nothing to do with it. If city cruises wants to reimburse they can give the money, but they don't have my money.
Living social sells an amount of deals that companies can not provide and then they take the money from you. It is a shame they do this kind of business.

unfair and unethical policies
Beware: Merchants are allowed to change the deal you purchase and Living Social will NOT do anything about it.
Here's my experience: I purchased an online Living Social deal for two lunch combinations at a local restaurant. A matter of weeks after I purchased the deal, I went to the restaurant to use the voucher. The restaurant was closed with a sign on the door that said they no longer serve lunch, and directed me to a different restaurant in a different part of the city that would honor the voucher. When I went to the other restaurant a few weeks later, they told me they would not honor the voucher. I then went back to the first restaurant and was told that they would give me the dollar value I purchased the voucher for toward food for dinner. In other words, I would receive no discount and have to buy a more expensive dinner instead of lunch.
I called Living Social, explained the situation and asked for a refund since the restaurant was no longer willing to honor the deal I purchased. I was told that I could not get a refund as it was past the refund period (even though the voucher had not yet expired). After asking for clarification, I was told that once the refund period has expired, any merchant can change give you a different deal than what you purchased and Living Social will not give you a refund unless the merchant has gone out of business.
Unfair and unethical policies such as this will surely keep me from using this website again.
me+3 scam
I've been using LivingSocial for on-line deals. While the deals are fine, the claim that they will give you the deal for free when 3 others buy using your link is a scam. I've done this 5 times and each time they tell me that my friends didn't use my link. The last time, I clicked on my link myself from my friends computer and she purchased the deal. They have no record of it. They even have a canned response to this complaint saying that this is a complicated computer process that's not wrong. I have many friends and family members who I purchased LivingSocial deals from their links and they received nothing as well. This is a scam & I'm not using LivingSocial any longer.

thank you for your awful service
Hello Lauren x7009
Thank you for your awful service...
your so called "customer care" title should be removed immediately...AND as far as you being the only person to escalate my issue to in all of Living Social? Hmmm, Ive already written to the CEO of company.
After reading the reviews from other customers posted all over so many sites from all around the world about LS services it is more than crystal clear that I am one of thousands that has a complaint about your
lack of customer care and the LS site in general. The reviews speak for themselves - they are all Negative!
You were absolutely no help, did not resolve the issue and provided NO customer care - the advertisment for ISO Beauty Hair Dryers was 100% misleading.
The Deal Ad showed the ISO Beauty site where there were several dryers to choose from - after finding one, I purchased the voucher - nowhere on the deal ad did it mention there were limitations?
Upon receiving the voucher - the site to choose the product from changed! the hair dryer I originally bought the voucher for was not included! Whoever wrote this ad for you, should be investigated! It doesnt make any sense. There were no limitations to the hair dryer products on the Deal Ad ! And why would you post the ISO main site where there is a broader selection of dryers?
This is totally misleading! AND BAD Business!
I will post this message all over the place on the net and report you to the better business bureau - all your other Living Social EX customers are already there; ISO Beauty Co. is hearing about
about this case too
The fact that you could not even offer up one solution to keep me as a customer is disgusting and you called youself the manager with no other persons to speak with.
Nevermind the Deal ad anymore - Im stuck with it - but more importantly, you have absolutely no experience in customer care or how to keep customers returning!
Apparently you missed training day on "How NOT to loose the Customer"
Too bad for Living Social ! No wonder all the complaints
I purchased a $21 San Diego Zoo Safari voucher and utilized their "Me + 3" deal by inviting my boyfriend, his brother and his mother to purchase tickets. They each received an email, and my boyfriend purchased one ticket per email link. The next day, my boyfriend received an email saying that because he used the same credit card for all purchases, the deal was not valid and we would not receive a free ticket.
Nowhere did it say that you couldn't use the same credit card, but for $21, it wasn't a big deal.
My boyfriend's card gets charged for 3 tickets, then two days later, one charge is returned. I contact Living Social, and they say that I only referred two people to the deal. I offered to give email proof and credit card statement proof. They ignored my arguments and changed their argument stating the 4th ticket didn't go through because the same credit card was used. If that were the case, then how did 2 tickets go through under the same card? And didn't you just say I never referred a 3rd person.
I asked to receive my rightful 4th ticket, paid or unpaid, but Living Social said that the deal was closed and they couldn't do so. Then, not even an hour later, I receive an email that states "Back by popular demand! San Diego Zoo Safari Tour!"
Living Social's customer support is run by hypocritical liars. They are willing to lose 4 clients and hundreds of future dollars over a $21 voucher. GROUPON is a much better service. Stay away from Living Social at all costs!
I bought a voucher which was a nitemare for a day course of hair and make up the company said the course would be in one location and that they would provide equipment/goody bags includin mac make up and the company said they would email to confirm everything at least a week before I heard nothing until 3 days before and the told me a different location and that I needed to take my own equipment I emailed the company to complain and heard nothing back so contacted livingsocial direct they said they would give me a £5 voucher for there site! So I lost alot of money! I will never use them again as the obviously don't vet there merchants very well and the customer care and after care is terrible! Groupon did the same deal and my friend had the same issues as me and groupon were fab about it and gave them a full refund! I will NEVER use living social again!
I have never written a review on any site until now. This company is a complete scam. We bought a voucher for a Limo for $450 No where on the site does it say call immediately and set up your date because if when you call and have trouble with a merchant they deal with you will not be able to get a refund. I had the merchant try to charge me to fees when I called one for the service pickup which was an extra $89 and one for gratuity which was $199. I was told by the merchant when arguing the $89 charge because I was within the 25 mile pickup radius that was printed on the voucher that I could just get a refund. So I decided to call Living social after they said that because I was so upset about all these charges I was trying to be charged that were not printed anywhere in the fine print of Living Socials Voucher. So I get a customer service rep that just apologized but basically said there was nothing they could do since the time past. He did offer to give me $450 back in Daily Bucks which I absolutely am not taking because I already did not want to buy another deal where I may run in to the same trouble I was experiencing with false advertising on what I was purchasing and no mention of additional fees. There should be a law against hidden fees that are not mentioned and it should be labeled as fraud to the consumer, especially when the company will not refund the money to the customer. I was then basically threatened when I refused to have $450, money which I do not have to be sitting in an account not at my disposable for things I need, I asked for a supervisor and was told that if I spoke to a supervisor the deal of the daily bucks credit to my account may be taken away. When I said I was gonna have my friend contact her credit card company and dispute the charge, the guy says to be well if she does that she will be charged with fraud because it is a valid charge. Excuse me, I bought a product that has no mention of additional charges I am going to be charged when I use a voucher, who is commiting the fraud?!
After I spoke to the supervisor, I was sent an email saying here is the refund policy. We will not refund your money or dailybucks. So guess it wasn't an idle threat from the customer service threat but actual fact. I was told to work it out with the merchant who had already agreed because of me contacting their manager that the $89 fee would be waived. But Living Social did nothing about getting the $199 gratuity charge so I had to contact them again. Per that phone call I was told it would not be waived and that the merchant does not get paid by Living Social until the voucher is redeemed. So my money isn't even with the merchant as I was originally told by the customer service rep and supervisor that the merchant had already been paid by them.
I absolutely cannot believe a company can do what Living Social is doing and getting away with it. I am contacting the BBB, my State Attorney Generals office and I have also found a class action suit with Groupon who is a competitor of Living Social and am gonna contact the attorneys representing clients on that case. At least in Groupons return policy they say refunds are case by case after the 7 days but not only on businesses that go out of business like Living Social does! The worst part about it is how ridiculous that they think this kind of customer service is going to gain customers. I will review on every site I can to tell people do not do this. You can find deals online through companies own websites and you are way better off dealing directly with the merchant then going through this 3rd party that just wants to Scam you and take your money!
I bought a voucher for Actors Seminar Series from LivingSocial on March 14, 2012. The seminar was dated for April 4th from 1pm-5pm. They only do the seminars on Wednesdays and I usually have another on-going class that I take on Wednesdays, but picked this date because we are on a break so this was the only date I could attend. I showed up to the correct address at the correct time and no one was at the theatre. I found one guy in an office upstairs and he said they had no events scheduled on their calendar for that day. I called LS and after doing research, the guy told me that they had a similar complaint in the month of March for one of their seminars as well. They reached out to the vendor with no response. I looked online and the vendor only has a tiny website with a facebook link and a phone number and the facebook page is rarely used. I called the number and left messages but have not received a call back. There is no other mention of this vendor at all online. I was told it by LS it would take 3 days to research and try to make contact with the vendor, but that I probably would not get my money back and would have to take a credit for the amount to buy another voucher later. I told them I didn't want it and was told by another woman that if the vendor is able to reschedule the date and I cannot attend that I would only be eligible for the credit because they did reschedule. I picked a day specifically that I would be able to go and the vendor did not deliver on the class. So even if they reschedule, why should I be expected to go to the rescheduled date or lose my money? Especially since you said that this vendor has already had a the exact same complaint just last month. Why would I want to reschedule if they already have a habit of not showing up and conducting the seminars? The vendor did not deliver on it's promise so I should get my money back. I'm still waiting to hear back, but if in the end, I do not get a refund of my money I will report this to the BBB. After this, I just want my money back and I don't want to deal with the vendor ever again.
What a scam. I purchased a $69 price (a $280 value) for a basic photography workshop from Fotoscool in Calgary, AB. I was ready to book a session and all dates were booked in 2012 so I had to wait until 2013...AND...the instructor, Brad, said the regular price is always $69. If I didn't want to wait until 2013, I had to go through LivingSocial to get a refund. Listen...if a company was doing well at what they do...delivering a superior customer experience...they would not need LivingSocial. They would be acquiring new customers just by word of mouth. If businesses need LivingSocial to get new customers, they are under-delivering their services. Do NOT waste your money. Ask your friends/colleagues for a better referral.
After purchasing my Living Social deal I read reviews online and MANY complained that after buying a deal they found fraudulent charges on their bank statement, and wouldn't you know a week after buying my deal I found a $50 charge on my statement from a gaming website. It seems this is a major problem at Living Social and because there have been SO many complaints and it just happened to me, I wonder if Living Social is taking any action to protect their customers. How do you expect to have any return customers?
Not only that but I had 3 friends buy my deal and because one was a couple that bought 2 deals on the same credit card Living Social DID NOT WANT TO GIVE ME MY DEAL FREE. After many emails back and forth they finally did agree.
I will NOT be buying any future "deals" from Living Social.
These guys sell vouchers without any apparent vetting of the service or product provider. Have spent a month trying to contact the supposed provider of the cleaning service that I have purchased and heard nothing back. Contacted Living Social and they will not refund my money! No service and no refund - isn't this illegal!
Same sad experience as many people. Business was unable/unwilling to perform the service I purchased, when I requested a refund from livingsocial, I continually received a robo response via email. When I called customer service, a very polite professional young lady continually gave me a 'robo' response that I did not qualify for a refund under their policies. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she continually, 'politely and professionally, " kept ignoring my request. When I continually asking why she was ignoring my request to speak to her supervisor. She 'politely and professionally" hung up on me. (note the sarcasm.)since they are unwilling to accommodate my request for refund, I will be disputing the charges to my credit card. I urge anyone who has has issues with Livingsocial to do the same. Believe me, they do not what to get too many disputed charges or they will lose their standing with their merchant bank. And then maybe they will treat their customers as they should be treated.
I signed up for the "$2000" LASIK special. There were no exclusions listed on the Livingsocial ad or voucher. Once at the consultation (after paying the $2000 to Livingsocial, $46 for the parking and spending hours at the office), I was told that my bladeless lasik procedure would cost $1000 more. Shame on LivingSocial for improper advertising!
Living Social customer service was an F-. What a bunch of a**holes. I booked a housecleaning services with them that (thank god) was so overbooked the put my appointment 4 months out--I then had time to read the reviews and all the reviews of the service that had used LS vouchers were AWFUL! I tried to get a REFUND from LS but they would not have it! I tried to explain this was a service that allowed people to come into my home, not a restaurant or clothing shop. They were the rudest people I have spoken with in ages.
I had to settle for a $55 credit with LS and now all the good LS deals go through amazon and I am left with CRAP to choose from including deals that are 50 miles away from New Orleans, really they can't get deals in NOLA anymore because the merchants know they suck too...I will never use Living Social again after I use this credit which at this rate could be years.
bait & switch
Living Social allowed this small Bed and Breakfast to oversell vouchers. They claim that the fine print says "subject to availabilty". What they don't tell you is that there is no availability until after your voucher expires. The voucher is then only valid for face value and cannot be used for any promotions they may offer. You end up paying full price for a Bed & Breakfast you were only willing to try when discounted.
do not purchase anything through living social is my recommendation
HORRIBLE COMPANY - FALSE ADVERTISING! I have purchased 4 Living Social Advertisement Vouchers for various offers and have had problems with ALL 4.
1st one – kept cancelling appointments – took me 4 times and having to get rude to get them to keep the appointment.
2nd one was a gift for friends and when they went the facility was CLOSED DOWN AND CHAINED UP
3rd one – It has taken 3 months of stress and again having to get rude to get an appointment set up – we’ll see if they show.
4th one – Is this one
I want my money back. The deals are FALSE ADVERTISING and the stress and time I am taking in the mornings, on lunch breaks, in the evenings and week-ends to use them is not worth any advertised savings if they ever respond.
HORRIBLE COMPANY. This is the 2nd time this has happened with LIVING SOCIAL! FALSE ADVERTISING! I purchased a Living Social coupon in March 2012 for Adler's Contracting and have been leaving messages for them to contact me on the phone number provided as well as multiple e-mails. NO ONE has responded to my many, many calls and multiple e-mails to schedule the advertised offer for painting and the coupons expires in Sept. BUYER BEWARE! WITH THIS COMPANY AND LIVING SOCIAL. I have also been contacting Living Social who refuses to refund my money, claims they will contact me back and never do, I finally started keeping written names and dates of who I've spoken with and as of today my 3rd call to them they still refuse to refund my money. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING THROUGH LIVING SOCIAL is my recommendation.
I know how to get the money back. The best way is to file a Small Claims action. Any other lawsuit is easy for them to brush off, but with a small claims suit, they CANNOT use a lawyer! Therefore, someone from Living Social will have to show up and defend. They won't and you will win by default EVERYTHING you ask for.
However, there are other ways before going to that extreme. Like, calling the customer service line. it's [protected]. Other numbers are [protected] and [protected]. They will put you through to customer service. Choose option 1 and wait for it to finish. it will tell you to hold if you did not get your answer. Then, you'll be on hold for about 5 to 15 minutes, but someone WILL come on. Explain your situation. THEN, explain what it is you think you have to do to get your money back. If they do not take care of it, small claims is the answer.
Did you call Living Social for a refund and the complaint? I just contacted them for a situation myself and know how to get the money back. Hit me up at filmdad3@gmail.com for info!
