La Quinta Inns & Suites review: No refund for booking wrong La Quinta

It was my mistake but was hoping for some compassion. I use the Gainesville FL VA hospital for health care. I went in on 21 April 26 for knee issues, and they scheduled my meniscus surgery 8 days later on the 29th of April at the Lake City VA hospital. Not paying attention, I accidently booked a room at the Lakeland La Quinta and not Lake City. I guess I was excited that they could repair my knee that fast. Well, to my surprise, I show up at the Lake City La Quinta and I have no rooms booked. That's when we realized I had booked Lakeland and not Lake City. I paid to stay in Lake City but the manager at Lakeland said Sorry, no refund will be given. I always stay at La Quintas because we travel with a pet. I understand the cancelation policy, but this was a different situation.
