Giant Eagle GetGo Gas Station review: Company accountable for their policies and actions

Giant Eagle Get Go Gas Stations are placing a hold on customers Visa Debit card who use a pin number. This information is not posted on the gas pumps or on the clerk's window at the gas station. On today, December 30, 2022, I purchased $50 for gas. at GetGo #3659 Frankstown, 9001 Frankstown Rd Pittsburgh PA 15235. The pump did not issue a receipt as I requested however as I drove away my debit card statement showed that I had purchased $175 for gas. Immediately I returned to the gas station and spoke to the tell at the window inquiring why this amount was taken off my card instead of $50. She stated that this is Giant Eagle's policy to hold a percent if you use a debit card. I indicated to her that the policy was not posted anywhere at the gas station! She stated that the money would return to my card in about 3 days however with it being a holiday it might take longer. I asked for her to print my receipt and then I called the company and complained, and they reiterated what the clerk had said. I stated my concern that it not posted nor is it fair to the customers to do this unaware. I called WPXI news station, in Pittsburgh PA, to conduct an investigation. I write this complaint to you because there are so many people struggling to pay rent, pay bills, buy food or buy medicine. This company is placing added stress during a very stressful time for Americans especially when they are not aware of this company's policy.
