I have a genetic disease called Low Protein S Activity. It first manifested in September 1986. There are 7 veins in my left thigh permanently occluded from that episode. I’ve since had clots up and down the inner part of my right leg, calf to thigh, repeated clots in my hands and fingers, and one in my right forearm a surgeon cut out to send to Emory University.

It took awhile to get a proper diagnosis because you can’t be tested for Protein S while taking Coumadin.

Because of my wild and crazy clots, any surgery requires I go off blood thinner and use enoxaparin.

When Express Scripts filled the drugs, it was no trouble. Not so with Accredo.

THIS TIME my Dr. (Kymlyn Williams-Budhan, Jennie Stuart Family Health, Hopkinsville KY) called in 16 doses of 80 ml Enoxaparin on 10/32023

About 10 days later, I got a message from Accredo. They needed more info and had reached out to my Dr but she hadn’t responded.

Every BLESSED time. So I contacted Dr. Budhan. She was out of the office that day, but another Dr in the office would take care of it. My Dr’s nurse confirmed that Accredo HASN’T contacted them.

Same old story.

I received another message from Accredo yesterday. Same thing.

So I called Accredo. I asked to speak to a pharmacist and was put on hold twice by the representative, twice by the pharmacy tech and once by the pharmacist.

I was told they needed more info.

What kind of info? I told them about my genetic disease. I told them I was having carpal tunnel surgery 11/13/2023. I told them my rheumatologist thinks I have a torn rotator cuff.

I told them I could have scheduled the carpal tunnel surgery at least 2 weeks sooner, but I know what Accredo is like.

They couldn’t tell me what kind of info they needed. They might need it from the Dr or maybe they need it from my pharmacy.

But my pharmacy is Express Scripts, and Accredo is a division of Express Scripts.

So I called Express Scripts. The representative looked up records. She saw that the script for Enoxaparin was entered into the computer system 10/4/2023. She couldn’t tell what other info was needed.

I told her that even after Accredo sends an email that the drug is on its way, it’ll take at least TEN days before I receive it.

I’m FRUSTRATED. I’m ANGRY. I’m tired of it ALL.

I’ve also contacted my Dr’s office again today. Supposed to call back tomorrow to see if they were able to do anything.

Yes, I could get this at a local pharmacy for > $100. Accredo costs me $20. Big difference. I’ve HAD to get it at a local pharmacy once because you didn’t fill my script.

Of, and my dentist, Dr. Kaleb Greene, tells me I need a tooth pulled. That’ll be an entirely new script.

Desired outcome: Send 16 doses of Enoxaparin 80 ( ml, cc, I don’t know. I weigh 176 lbs) by 11/1/2023. And stop putting me through this EVERY TIME.
